is the dz in jacksonville, FL still open??

does anyone know if the dz is still open, somone asked me this week about it and i wasn't sure.

if it's not, will there be a dz near jacksonville for PIA??

It's a tandem factory but the last I heard it was still operating. Closest DZ's are Palatka, Deland, and Titusville.

gonna stop by there today.... also titusville, Im pretty
sure it's open though, weather is beautiful..... I'll
let you know if your still around, it's gonna take a while
cause Im gonna get a new tent and some food for
this weekend.

It is a damn shame the DZ never really took off. The location has so much potential being located in a large city with no other dropzones nearby. Somebody would have to pour a lot of money into building a facility and own a good plane to make it all happen. I am sure a good jumpship will be there to accomodate the PIA. The DZ is still in operation flying a Cessna 206 primarily for tandems on the weekends.

the jumpmaster, he seems kind of bummed... I can't
blame him though. Since Im staying right around the
corner for a little while, gonna kick it there in my spare
time if they'll let me. it's still cool. GREAT people...
not enough jumpers... damn, I feel bad for them now.
anyway, yeah it's open, and from what I heard... it's
open tommarrow too and the day after. anyway gotta
start making moves... it's FRIDAY NIGHT FEWL!!!!
