Lessons learned....

Recommended Posts

Each day I learn so much through my work and my patients. I've had to say good-bye to 2 people over the past two weeks. They were not only my patients, but they became my friends. One is gone and the other will be meeting the angels soon. I feel blessed to have gotten to know these two beautiful ladies. They were faced with a challenge that they took on with grace, strength and dignity. Over the past few years there have been many hugs, many tears, an enormous amount of love and alot of laughter. They've fought the good fight and I have nothing but love and respect for them.:)
Take the time this weekend to let your loved ones know you care. Share a smile with a stranger, a giggle with a friend and enjoy all that you are blessed to have. Don't let opportunities pass you by.

Peace and hugs,

Laurie

That weas a nice "in check" moment... You sound like a real sweet person, and those ladies were undoubtedly lucky to know you as well. Life is short, and very precious...thats why we need tolive it to the fullest everyday, and always tell those we love, daily how important they are too us!;)

I agree. My mom was a nurse for over 25 years and experienced a lot of pain and grief and hope and miracles over the years. It is the natural cycle of life and death. Life is what you make it, and death is inevitable.

Wait, wait, wait, I thought life was like a box of chocolates!

Damn, I'm confused. :S

Diva, it's nice that you get to share your compassion with people who need it. Sometimes I think that the only comfort that is true is that we all will know peace when this life is done. Maybe that's part of why people can accept their own deaths with grace and dignity -- because they believe and know that ultimate peace is coming.

....more lessons....don't sweat the small stuff, a hug is one of the greatest gifts to offer....

Hugs, Sweetie!

Life Is -
A box of chocolates, a bowl of cherries, a walk in the park, a bottle of beer, a meadow of pretty flowers that smell bad, it's all kinds of stuff-

But I've found a hug here and there makes it all good -

Hug yourself for me, baby- And while your at it, give yourself a kiss, too!

Easy Does It
