I know its been done but this time my desk view is cool. You'll notice that I'm in the landing pattern for John Wayne Airport, so I get to see the planes go by.

I'm on break at my job in Seattle. I haven't jumped in almost 3 weeks due to bad weather, now it's a perfect blue sky day, and I'm stuck here til sundown. To make matters worse, I just watched on my radar scope (I'm an air traffic controller) my DZ's Caravan climb out with a load of jumpers. AAArgghhh! :S

Man, I hope this weather holds thru tomorrrow.

Hi John

We were driveing north on I-5 past boeing field looked to the left and there was this BFA at eyeball level and very close (Parallel).

Damn wonder how many out of towners get the big surprise driving into seattle past Boeing field and end up in a traffic jam:o.

Rumor alert: Be warned R.I.P. may be at the DZ sunday and thats final:|.

Question:Since your a atc for the faa What's the deal with the F.A.A. were they around befor the F.B.I. I know they work for the Gov't and want to help us.;)

R.I.P.

I spent many a weekend in Pope tower earning my rating and watching the Raeford Twinbo (back in the day, yes I am old) go to altitude on radar whicle keeping Pope's airspace safe for military pilots. I even saw returns from the tandem (or student) canopies. OK, let not argue canopy radar signature vs. density of the jumpers body. I've read most of it ad nauseum.

I think I was on the load before that one:P
You're right, it was a beautiful day out at the DZ and the view from 14 G's is simply awesome. All of the snow topped mountains, the ocean - it sure beats the view over Texas.:)
Hopefully the weather will hold tomorrow cuz it's finally time to whip out the camera gear and this area is photographers dream.

Peace,
Z

No... but he does have that first row of first class seats tied down

Actually on SWA..........the only "first class" seat is around row 15. (Exit row Aircraft left) :D I sit in it every chance I get........unless it's the last flight of the day. Then I sit up front so I can get off the plane quickly. :D It makes riding SWA that much more bearable. Oh....one other trick......the window and isle seat on that row are the 2 MOST sat in seats on the plane other than the crew seats. So....the seat cushions are usually about worn out. If you have the chance switch seat cushions with the middle seat. ;) It's usually in MUCH better shape. Hmmm.....I need to write a "Travel Tips" book. I'd make a MINT.

Main St. Houston, TX[:/]

That reminds me about a time I had to drive downtown. During my trip I have to weave thru so much traffic and construction I was about to blow a gasket. I roll up on a light and there is an off-duty police officer standing there drinking a soda. Just watching the traffic, doing his job to protect the construction workers. I missed the light twice do to some piece of equipment in the road. Soooo... I lean out my window and ask if the cop would come answer some questions...

Me: Excuse me sir.
Cop: How can I help you?
Me: Is there a street in downtown that you guys haven't fucked up?
Cop: (looks suspisously at me) hmmmm...
Me: Well is there a non jacked up street in DT?
Cop: (thinking some).. You find one call me, I'll send a crew to fuck it up!
Me: *smile*
Cop: *Laughing*

You have to understand about 90% of the streets in DT looked like those photos. All but one lane of a one-way street was jacked.

You're ATC, vector them around for awhile then make them descend to 1900 ft. It'll make you feel better.
Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.
