I was saying "hello" and reaching into the cage slowly so I wouldn't startle the little rodent. She was curled up in the corner, and I began stroking her back with my finger (making sure to use my right hand rather than my left so, if she bit be, I could still play guitar.) "Hamsterville" (I didn't pick the name) rolled over with her little feet up in the air and let me rub her belly! I love cats and have seen this many times, but never with a hamster. This has become a regular routine now. Yesterday she even gently nibbled my finger, much as a cat might do. Amazing. Go figure. lol btw, the name - speedy penut butter and grape jelly.
