bertusgeert 1 #1 October 7, 2004 OK, so I just ran into one of the best CD's I've ever bought. Yngwie Johann Malmsteen - Concerto Suite for Electric Guitar and Orchestra Op. 1. It is absolutely fantastic. Not like Metallica's S&M, where it is Rock music with an orchestra, this is actually a composition by Yngwie, for EVERY SINGLE INSTRUMENT! He composed it all, and it rocks. It is baroque music, with a simple electric guitar played by yngwie, what a madman. NO rock vocals and drums and shit, just an orchestra. I will be listening to this for years to come! --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei!

Tekla 0 #3 October 8, 2004 The only Yngvie album I have is the Rising Force one from years back. Is there anywhere on the interweb you can download a sample of this orchestral one before buying the album ? Lu-"let the beast beware"-cy .
adamjenner 0 #4 October 8, 2004 Yngwie Malmsteen is by far one of the greatest guitarists alive! you listen to some of the wild crazy solos he does at such speed and he never EVER misses a note. it's crazy insane!!! i'll be sure to buy this album! (S&M was really great too and there were hopes of doing a second one until micheal caiman died)
bertusgeert 1 #5 October 8, 2004 Unfortunately there is no place that I have found that lets you listen to it. I tried too, not sure if I wanted to spend the $16 on something that I might not like. But I couldn't find anything and decided it was worth the gamble. Hell yeah it was. Yngwie was in a band that played solely his stuff when he was 11. He listened to baroque, his parents were involved with it, and decided that it was awesome. He heard Paganini's 24 caprices (which is fantastic), and decided to learn it on guitar. (it was originally for violin). IT is INSANE. If you've heard the 24th one, you'll know. It is like a superfast guitar solo for something like 11 minutes. But why does Yngwie go into hard rock crap? I don't like that stuff at all, even though he might be super-talented, most of his stuff pisses me off. --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei! This album is available from the iTunes Music Store for 9.99. You can get 30 second previews of all the tracks there too. Yngwie is an excellent guitarist and this is a great album.--- Some days it's not even worth the effort to chew through the restraints.
