You need some classics in the repertoire for sure:
Margaritaville
Brown Eyed Girl
American Pie
Father & Son
And it's always good to know lots of Ben Harper & Jack Johnson.

Are you good? Learn some Eric Clapton. He kicks ass!
One of the easist songs i've evern learned was Pink Floyd's "is there anybody out there". It is the only song to this day I remember by heard. A catchy PF song would be "Wish You Were Here". I like "have a cigar", too, you could pick up that one cool rif.

Anything by Zeppelin or the Beatles is good.
Also, try some other things like Boston (a number of good ones), the Stones, or any of a number of great blues numbers.
If you want one that'll take a few yars t get down, try something like "Sultans of Swing" by Dire Straits. That's some practice...
My wife is hotter than your wife.

Don't forget the old standard that everyone playing a guitar must learn......Smoke on the Water- Deep Purple.
I'm pretty sure that anyone who can play a guitar knows that one.

If you like Zeppelin:
The Rain Song
Over the Hills & Far Away
Black Mountain Side
Those are a good start

Beatles?
Rocky Raccoon.
Its a pretty easy song to play, but it also lends its self to your own style of playing, you can change up the pick pattern and the tempo to suit your taste.
All in all a badass song.

ooo, I like the eggman/walrus song by the Beatles, not sure of the name, though, but I can't be too far off.
The Rain Song by Zeppelin should be a pretty song and probably very easy, too:)

Buy a book. The Fake Book..if ya want to learn other songs.
Or, just play a D chord,,3rd fret, then move to 5th and 7th, then go reverse..keep playing with that until you hear..wishing you were here' by Chicago.
Easy stuff: Em-A..back and forth until you hear Horse with no name, America.
Personally I have been just playing around with my own litte tunes..If ya get really bored, then start playong with some alternate tunings..a whole new world there! I love it!

Zeppelin songs? I decided I wante to play guitar after I heard Over the Hills and Far Away. Three years later, I could play it. Yeah, self taught, no money, etc.
A great song to learn lick for lick is Ten Years Gone. Good practice with voicings, arpeggios, and his solo is just plain NICE!
Want a weird one from the Beatles that will be a nice exercise? Try playing "Because" off of Abbey Road. Or, look at the songwriting skills demonstrated in "She Loves You." Change that Bm to an Am, an you have a do wop progression.
Another great Beatles tune is "I've Just Seen a Face." Or, "Here, There and Everywhere" for some fingerpicking and Barre Chord work.
