Zee 0 #1 October 11, 2004 I was just watching the local news up here in Seattle and they had a story about a 17 year old girl who ran off the road in to a 200 foot deep ravine last Saturday night on the way home from a party. She was trapped in the car with multiple broken bones for 8 freakin' days and she's still alive. When she was found she thought she had only been in the car over night and she was afraid she would be grounded Has to make you wonder........ Zee 0 #5 October 11, 2004 Yeah - the body is capable of amazing things. But eight days without food or water, multiple broken bones ( in her face ), and a blood clot in her brain ( just heard that too ). That's simply amazing. She's in the same hospital I was in when I jacked up my leg and from what I hear, it's the best trauma center in the Pacific North West. I sure hope they can put her back together again.... AggieDave 6 #6 October 11, 2004 No doubt it is truely an amazing thing! I really hope she pulls through ok from this ordeal. She might be lucky since she doesn't remember most of it, maybe she won't need theropy after this is all done.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Over two decades of ER/Trauma/ICU and I still am periodically amazed at just how much punishment the body and mind can take ...and survive. OTOH, some just seem to drift out of this life quite easily. I'm not sure, but it seems like some just ...give up. Michael

If the body wants to survive, it'll fight as hard as it can or die trying (lame pun fully intended :))This ad space for sale.
