AggieDave 6 #54 October 11, 2004 Oh, Paige, its my turn tonight to not beable to sleep. For some reason the vicodin has turned from knocking me out, to keeping me wide awake now. What sucks too is I'm still having to take it at the end of the day for the pain, I do ok until towards the end of the day... I don't want to take anything like nyquil since I don't want to mix drugs. Oh well...--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Evelyn 0 #55 October 11, 2004 Turn on the golf channel. I have friends who are golfers who record the golf channel to use to fall asleep. I can fall asleep to the golf channel regardless of the hour. AggieDave 6 #57 October 11, 2004 I use the history channel usually. The sad part is, although I'm thouroly engaged by the programming and find it interesting, most shows are dry enough that if I'm willing to let myself start falling asleep, usually I can. Which presents a quandry, I get interested in a show then let myself fall asleep, then I have to look up the show and see when it comes on again so I can finish watching it.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Evelyn 0 #58 October 11, 2004 Shit, I've f@#cking got insomnia now. When I was in Vegas over the weekend I was in bed by 10, but now I can't sleep. And I've gotta be up by 7. Oh well, guess I'll just keep posting, and maybe eat, again. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
Paige 0 #59 October 11, 2004 I took a Percoset last night with Tylenol PM and it worked wonders. I know what you mean about having to take something at the end of the day for pain, I'm right there with ya. These past few days have been rough, all we can do is stick with it and hope it improves. Good luck with it all, hope you got some sleep.Tunnel Pink Mafia Delegate www.TunnelPinkMafia.com

Spudmuffin 0 #61 October 12, 2004 AMBIEN - You'll have to get a perscription...but so worth it. I suffer from chronic "brain race" when things get quiet and I drive myself crazy. I had been "switch hitting" between Nyquil, hydroxizine (left over from when I was in the hospital), and over the counter sleeping pills. This not-so-bright-idea worked (pretty poorly) for a little while, but I finally sought help. I finally went to the doctor when I really thought I was losing it. Weird things were happening, I was getting muscle spasms in my back, my ears were ringing, my feet/hands would tremble, and of course, I couldn't think straight. I thought was ready to be committed and that my doc would think I was a hypochondriac. That didn't happen. The VERY FIST THING she asked me was "How are you sleeping?" I nearly fell off the table. Anyhow, that's how I got my scrip. She gave me a months worth, but I only needed to take it for four or five nights. It just got my internal clock reset. THANK GOD! I kept the rest for emergency use only. Insomnia is one of the most miserable things I deal with. You don't really have empathy for it unless you've suffered with it. Good luck and sweet dreams!
