PrairieDoug 0 #1 October 12, 2004 Last night I went with my son to the Vote for Change concert at the MCI center in DC. Even though I ordered tix online within 15 minutes after they went on sale, the only seats left were in the very top row of the arena. We were joking when we sat down that we should have brought oxygen masks. Then right after the 1st set started, a guy with the promotion group came up and offered us front row center seats. We felt like we had just won the lottery. The acts included: Bruce Springsteen, Dave Mathews, Pearl Jam, REM, Dixie Chicks with James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Rait, Keb Mo, John Mellencamp, Baby Face, and a couple others. What a great memory. Life handed us a real gem. Michael Stipe is a hoot and Bruce totally rocked the house.
JohnMitchell 16 #2 October 12, 2004 How cool! That is a kick ass line up. The order of appearance by the heavy hitters was REM, PJ, DMB, and then Springsteen. All the performers then teamed up for a feel-good closing number. I told my son that the downside is that he's now been spoiled for future shows.
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
