Shite!!!! All day long my lungs have been killing me. I thought it was just foggy outside but then it started smelling funny too. When I look out the window it's thick with haze and I can't even see Tiburon! Finally found out it's the wild fires in the northbay HERE

My eyes are all red now.

that reminds me of the time quebec had crazy wild fires in the summer a few years back and all of nova scotia was like "smoggy" from the smoke!

it sucked majorly!!!

For the last two or three years usually in the spring, we get very hazy days that smell like smoke. It was smoke from Mexico where they were burning cane fields.

We were doing some skydives out in Texas during the bad Mexico fires. It was amazing. We would get to about 10 grand and we would be above the layer of smoke. The visuals were incredible.

Back when I lived in Southern California I remember the huge fires we had where we'd be covered in ash if walked outside. That was crazy.

Anybody remember that huge tire fire they had in the valley (somewhere around Modesto) a few years ago? Burned for a week or so, turned half of Northern California into Los Angeles?

I was jumping at Byron during one of those weekends, and the smoke layer very clearly ended at about 7K. It's the only time I've ever smelled the air in freefall. It was very strange, seeing all this beautiful, fresh-smelling blue sky, and then hitting this stinky brown layer. Blech!

Anyway, get some Visine, hope they get the fires out soon!

HAd some bad fires in the area a few years ago, that actually shut operations at SkyDance down. The fires wer more than 100 miles away, but we couldn't even see the ground from altitude one day.

Then there was a couple years ago when I went up to Molalla, OR to Skydive Oregon for the Freedom jam boogie. I drove up and there were huge fires in Eastern Oregon I think. Was so thick I actually had to slow down on the highway. Molalla was north enough to be clear though, so a great weekend was had.
