Evelyn 0 #1 October 13, 2004 The reason I'm asking is cuz I hate beer, love wine. I will be doing a lot of firsts in a couple weeks...first time jumping a new DZ, first boogie, first jump on new gear, first helicopter jump. I'm gonna owe a ton of beer, but since I don't drink beer wondered if it would be appropriate to bring cases of wine. I'm going to a wine festival in Paso Robles next weekend and could come away with cases of wine to bring to the boogie. Do you think that would be acceptable...or does it have to be beer? Dumpster 0 #6 October 13, 2004 My daughter Sarah is only 17, and just started jumping this spring, so instead of beer she has two choices - Give Dad $$ to buy beer or - Large quantities of home-baked goodies - Brownies or chocolate chip cookies. but they HAVE to be home-made, not this store-bought crap! Amazing how well cookies and beer go together! Easy Does It
SLIDER 0 #7 October 13, 2004 Sometimes people at our drop zone bring wine coolers, or some of the other non-beer drinks' like mikes, zima or smirnoff. One of the girls likes to make jello shots(yummy) for her firsts .. whatever works!! Beer will always be traditional - and we'll see all kinds of other cool stuff "there's a fine line between hobby and mental illness"
dzdiva 7 #8 October 13, 2004 Doesn't have to be beer. When I did my first 4-way chick dive a couple months ago, I bought each chick a bottle of wine."It's not just a daydream if you choose to make it your life..."

happythoughts 0 #10 October 13, 2004 I like the idea of putting up a six-pack of sodas also. I don't drink much beer (much to the chagrin of our bartender) and generally drink a diet-pepsi after jumping.
mnealtx 0 #11 October 13, 2004 I'm given to understand that SOME sort of thing like that is traditional.... In my case, I like beer, and even DRINK the occasional beer every once in a while... so I'll be bringing a few cases of Shiner Bock to Skydive Houston next week to cover my "firsts"....Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. GogglesnTeeth 6 #13 October 13, 2004 I'm sure most of you have seen this in one form or another. Figured it was appropriate for this thread! http://crw.boxofclue.com/skydive/beer_rules.html I will also drink wine, eat cookes, etc.... as long as a tax is paid and the resident "beer enforcer" is happy, I see no problem with substitutions.Goggles and Teeth "You fall like a greased safe!!!"
