wildblue 7 #1 October 8, 2004 Going to Vegas for a few days, this will be my beer time - what should I not miss? Obviously I'll lose some money at the blackjack table and probably craps. Cirque du Soleil is on my list of 'things to see' - what else is good?it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality
davedlg 0 #2 October 8, 2004 The Big Shot ride on top of the stratosphere, the Speed ride at the Sahara, and the roller coaster at the NYNY are all great fun!
skymama 37 #3 October 8, 2004 The "Blue Man Group" is a cool show if you haven't seen it. Remi was just there, maybe he'll have some suggestions that aren't too much on the freaky side. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
PhillyKev 0 #4 October 8, 2004 I'm going in 2 weeks. Don't miss the free stuff. Tops on my list is the fountain in front of the Bellagio. Other than that, my suggestion for beer trip to Vegas is just get out, and walk around. You'll find plenty to do, no need to prioritize. Fremont street downtown is really really cool. Every hour all the lights on the whole street go out and there's a laser show on a canopy over the street. But I didn't make it down for that until like my 10th time there since there's so much to do and see just on the strip. Best buffet is at the Bellagio. A little more than the other places but definitely worth it.
Thanatos340 1 #5 October 8, 2004 Check out the Penn and Teller show. Great Show and it is a pretty cheap ticket and easy to get. The "O" Show (Cirque Show at the Belligio) is sometimes sold out for weeks in advance but definately worth seeing. The other two Cirque shows there are not quite as good. complexity 0 #6 October 8, 2004 Definitely go the the Bellagio -- outside they have this water fountain show that is sooo cool. It happens every hour i think. Also Bellagio has a good nightclub with dancing.

wmw999 2,551 #9 October 8, 2004 Hoover Dam is an interesting tour, too -- the place is huge and impressive, with attention paid to beauty as well as function. I really enjoyed it. Of course, I'm a geek Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. jtval 0 #12 October 8, 2004 gotta disagree with you on that one. Ive been there twice and decided its a waste of time. (I compared it to skyventure. that may have been my mistake) if youire looking to stay on the strip then there are plenty of things to do. if youre looking to get away for a day/ or just a handful of hours you can check out redrock Natl.park. you may have seen some pictures of it in my posts. the HOOVER DAMN is about 30-40 miles away. you can go visit the spot that, just last week, some guy threw himself off after he killed his girlfriend. very touristy ( actually its is a cool sight) FREEMONT STREET is definitely cool. got a cool vibe. and the light show has been upgraded significantly. If you have a saturday or sunday..theres also SKYDIVE MESQUITE and in two weeks we'll have the caravan (15 oct)My photos My Videos
Remster 30 #13 October 8, 2004 Here's some stuff to do. It was my beer time spending any length of time there ( i had 2 hours to waste there last time). Flyaway tunnel (its close to the convention center, North of the main part of the strip). Its not Skyventure, but what the heck! $50 1st flight includes the course. Go to the Rio. I dont care if its on the other side of the highway, just go and have a drink in the main lounge in the middle of the casino (you shouldnt have to much trouble finding it, follow the drool lines lol). While there, the Voodoo lounge on the top floor has great views of the strip. That longe has a $10 cover. The one in the casino is free. They figure you'll keep ordering to get the waitresses closer. They are right. The Bellagio is pretty impressive. Their indoor garden were being re-furbished when I went last week, but I think they were just setting uo for the fall/halloween thing. The best (read strong) big-ass margarita I drank was at a little bar along the strip... sorry, dont remember the name, but its on the East side of the strip, south of the Bellagio. Its at the entry of a food court, and in that food court, they're a really, really, really cheesy (even for Vegas standards lol) animatronics show with giant birds singing in a tree. In that food court, mercifully seperated from that display with sound proof glass, is a pretty good Indian buffet restaurant. $15 aint bad for a buffet when its good. Hotel buffets sucks, but I'm sure you aint learning that now. The inside of the Luxor is pretty impressive. Its fakeness gets to you, but the size of the hall is cool. Someone mentioned visiting a place called The Studio... dont know what thats about , but considering the source, I'm sure its freakish.... What I loved most about the place was the desert surrounded by montains. My 1st time there I had a meeting in the mountains to the SW of the city, and I just fell in love with the scenery. I'm sure the drive to Hoover would be as cool, and thats on the list for next time.Remster
Remster 30 #14 October 8, 2004 Oh, I forgot, dont count on that JT guy to reply to your PMs about having a beer with ya. Maybe that JTVal2 guy is more dependable...Remster
Unstable 9 #15 October 8, 2004 I was in Vegas Not too long ago visiting my brother. If I were you, I would not Miss Red Rock National Park for anything. I spent almost three complete days, just running and hiking around the area. It's really easy to get too, if you just get of Charles Ave, and follow it out of town for about 10 miles, you drive right into it. Oh, and it's got a really cool exhibit on desert tortoises. Way cooler than any show girls.... =========Shaun ==========
Thanatos340 1 #16 October 8, 2004 I agree with you on this one. The tunnel there sucks. You have to Fly the baggy ballon suit they put you in instead of your body. Not much good for training but a good amusement Ride. If you do decide to go, show them your USPA Card and they will give $5 or $10 off so it ends up costing about $40 for 15 minutes in the tunnel (With 4 or 5 others). linny 1 #18 October 8, 2004 It's all about Ghost Bar at The Palms..... if you feel like dressing up and paying 8 bucks for drinks that is.. "Rain" at The Palms is a HUGE club as well The Big Apple Bar at New York,New York has AWESOME apple martini's. But my favorite thing to do is buy a bottle of beer at a little liquor store on the street and wander around with a video camera. It doesn't get boring until about 8am Have fun WildBLue, then come to Cali
sunshine 2 #19 October 8, 2004 The best thing to do in vegas is visit the M&M store. As others have said the Belagio water show is awesome. Another awesome show is the one at Treasure Island. It's outside by the big pirate ship. Lotsa sexy chicks in skimpy costumes. At least you're not going with eener...that girl is trouble. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug! Wow! I was there about 3 years ago and it was only $53. Inflation has hit Vegas like a ton of bricks. Nobody mentioned Star Trek: The Experience at the Hilton. It's a bit out of the way but they put on a great show.--- Some days it's not even worth the effort to chew through the restraints.
AggieDave 6 #22 October 8, 2004 Blue Man Group! Go see them! Besides that...ummmm...have you thought about Gambling? I know its not real popular in Vegas, but I've heard that it can be fun, even though its not what Vegas is known for...--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
