skybytch 273 #1 October 15, 2004 Miss me? So I arrived back in southern California last Wednesday night. Set the Tent Mahal up at Perris Saturday. Partied my ass off with Chuck and Dominic and some other people Saturday night and have been doing some serious relaxing and kicking back ever since. Being homeless and unemployed ain't so bad. I'm not a bag lady cuz I have a car and a tent, right? I guess technically I'm not unemployed; I start "back at Square One" on November 1st - this time I'll be working in the store on the dz at Perris, at least until the end of January. Dunno what I'll do after that. The tent is set up as far from the Crack House (wind tunnel) as I could put it, but it's still close enough that it's getting harder and harder to resist that magnetic high pitched whine. Having no money or available credit makes it easier though. It's been really cool watching the competitions the past week. Yesterday they set up the Style telemeter next to my tent; that's interesting to watch. The accuracy tuffet is in the middle of the landing area - they say the tuffet is soft so the landings aren't as brutal as they look. The CRW dogs banged out 8 jumps yesterday and will be doing the same today, wind permitting. They're all landing with their mains too; I've only heard of one cutaway in the first two days of competition. And in the middle of all that there are still a bunch of fun jumper loads going up. It's hard to postwhore from the computers in the Bombshelter - it's hard to even get to one most times, there are too many people wanting to use them. Currently sitting at my parent's house monopolizing their 'puter (and washer/dryer). Now to figure out what I'm going to do next week... for some reason a trip up to NorCal sounds like a good idea...
