Vallerina 2 #1 October 18, 2004 Isn't it funny to run into old flings? This past weekend I went to Purdue for Homecoming (no comments on our loss, please), and I ran into all sorts of people I haven't seen in years. I ran into a guy that I dated about 9 years ago. We hung out through college, and we hang out when we see each other. I don't talk to him much anymore, but I still think he's really cool. What's really funny is that 9 years ago, he was into doing the lighting for our school's plays/musicals and whatnot. He graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering Technology, and now he has his own company doing stage lighting! I ran into a guy that I kissed 3 years ago when I was pudgy. He hasn't seen me since I lost a ton of weight, so it really shocked him to see me thin. What I noticed about him was that I suddenly because so "smart" and "funny." He kept saying how hot I was, and he told Heidi to make sure to tell me that he said that I was hot. The only thing I can really think of about that is that for all he knows, I'm not much different than I was 3 years ago except for my weight. If that's the only reason he wants to talk to me now, then that's pretty shallow and a big warning sign to me. The third guy that I ran into was someone that I hung out with a whole lot in college. He had the apartment that we'd always go to where he got kicked out of eventually because of our antics. As what happened with many of my friends that I hung out with, we ended up making out one night, and we still hung out as friends afterwards. What makes me kind of sad is that I was right when I didn't want to be. He was a partier. He partied a whole lot. All of that partying did end up catching up with him. What can you do? It was also interesting running into some old friends, but most of them I still keep in touch with on a regular basis, so they didn't give me anything too shocking. Not lately, but I admit I've been around the country and not where they were likely to be for many years. That may change now that I'm around the home town alot more. Granted, I probably wouldn't say much, as those ex flings are ex's for a reason. The only one I see fairly often I have good reason to. It's every few weeks or so when she comes to pick up our son for a weekend, and then to bring him back. That is probably the only good thing to come out of any of my past 'flings'.
