Which way should your closing pin point on your neck?

Recommended Posts

Me and my wife were talking today as she just got a new closing pin necklace that is pink. We were wondering with all the indicators for the gay community such as "rainbow stickers", guys with ear rings in the right ear only, and yellow hankerchiefs - if there was a certain way guys, girls, gays (\seinfeld voice) not that there is anything wrong with that kinda thing(/seinfeld voice) OR freefliers, crw, ect. wear their pins? I mean we had never heard this discussed before.

If you're really worried about someone thinking you're homosexual becuase of how you wear your necklace A. your attitude about homosexuality could use a close looking at and B. you need to find something to do that takes up all that free time you apparently have to think about ridiculous things like this.

Just put it on. Who cares which way it points? :S

A. I was hesitant to respond to your comments...but my attitude about homosexuality is great. I have 3 gay friends 1 guy(x-coworker) and 2 girls. I am simply asking a question if the way it pointed means anything at all. Stop always being defensive people, and read. B Get over it and find your self something else to do than criticize others.

I say left.....that is the way I put my first closing pin necklace on...and that is the way it feels normal to me. I am sure we can create all sorts of hidden meanings behind the pin facing left or right, but in the end it comes down to personal preference.

"So, what if you jump a pull-out and have a necklace with a straight closing pin?"

Downwards is the correct direction for all pins to point.

Give the guy a break. He doesnt want to give the wrong impresion....

Just to ensure there is no misunderstnding, just wear a brown hankercheif in your right jean pocket. Your intentions will be loud and clear then...

Mine is pointing to my heart. As I thought it would be the most normal thing to do.
It's great to see that other people wear it in the same way.

Yeh, someone with the "correct" answer.:P:P
I've jumped a pull-out for 15 yrs. and was impressed that Preyor Pins offered the choice of a "straight" pin for my necklace.
A "straight" pin is -and always will be my choice.

At one time the design of pud was simple velcro attachment....velcro wore and jumpers lived with floating "puds" (those that didn't care to replace their velcro-)
The pud design was not secure enough.

When the design of tabs to hold the handle secure came out- (15 yrs. ago) everyone I know had already changed to curved pins. (I am a firm believer that it is safer to have your pilot chute inside- re: when I pull my pud- I pull the pin= positive pull)

In order for me to use my right hand to open/close the lobster clasp, the pin will point to the right. I tried doing it with my left hand to have the pin point to the left... but it takes too much time... so mine always points to the right...:|

Mine is pointing no where at the moment. The leather necklace that it was on dry rotted and broke. I am looking into other options to wear it with. I have always wanted a gold rope necklace, and my brother in law is a jewler so I am going to see if he can do something cool.

Gold and Silver look like shit together (white gold would probably look ok, but the charm stands out more if not outshined by the necklace, imo).

Well, you could just wear it anyway you like and wear a shirt that says "i'm a ____flier who is not gay!". Yep, that should do the trick:S.
