peacefuljeffrey 0 #1 October 17, 2004 I'm glad I rented this for only $.99, 'cause although I kinda liked it okay, there is NO ENDING! WTF? I expected another half hour of movie after he wins the "battle" against Papa Doc! And um, there was a bit left unresolved with the ho who cheated on him... They made it seem like there was gonna be something there between them and then um, kaput. Undeveloped story left hanging. I thought there was gonna be a point in the movie where he actually performed that song "Lose Yourself." Oh well. Possibly I'm overanalyzing what amounts to a silly "hip hop" movie that really doesn't mean jack shit. Sorry for wasting your time. -Jeffrey-Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... SkyAnt 0 #2 October 17, 2004 I think it was supposed to symbolise the end of that particular chapter in his life. Or perhapse just the beginning of a new one. If he had elaborated further it may have turned into an egocentric view of his lifes journey. "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." Paige 0 #3 October 17, 2004 It was a movie with a rapper in it so I didn't expect much. I figured stuff would be less than satisfactorly resolved because it seemed like a gimic or fad for Eminem fans. I just enjoyed the movie for what it did well, just entertained me and amused me. Nothing award winning but killed time and boredum.Tunnel Pink Mafia Delegate www.TunnelPinkMafia.com
tunaplanet 0 #4 October 17, 2004 Anything with Eminem in it can't be worth anything. They boy is a juvenile moron. Would rather watch those chick flicks Dagny makes me watch. Forty-two

FlyinNover 0 #6 October 20, 2004 QuoteI'm glad I rented this for only $.99, 'cause although I kinda liked it okay, there is NO ENDING! WTF? I like Eminem, so I've seen it a few times. At first I thought it was just a non-ending..not good, not bad. It just ended. There was no need to continue, because we all know what happened. Rabbit/Eminem is starting his career, he'll be famous in a few years, and that's it. But maybe the ending is a little more subtle. The last thing we see is his friends celebrating while he walks alone down the alley, "I'm going back to work." He went back to work and that's it. No rap career, no Shady empire, just a white trash wannabe who once ripped it up in a battle. And that's why the song Lose Yourself isn't in the movie........because it's not just Rabbit's character. In the song Eminem goes back and forth between first person B. Rabbit and first person Eminem. The "Eminem" lines are about how vital it was for him to take the opportunity, to do it. He's saying that you need to do it, seize it. Here's the opening line: "If you had one shot, or one opportunity to seize everything you ever wanted, in one moment, would you capture it, or just let it slip?" I think Rabbit let it slip. Otherwise, why not show him celebrating? Or a quick scene, a few months later, he gets spotted at the Battle, gets signed, etc. At the end we don't know what happens to him. The song is line after line telling people to grab it, do it, don't waste it. "He better go capture this moment and hope it don't pass" "You better never let it go, you only get one shot" "Do not miss your chance to blow, cause opportunity comes once in a lifetime" "So here I go, it's my shot, feet fail me not, this may be the only opportunity that I got" If anyone is still reading this far down, I'm surprised. :) This is what happens when english/philosophy/writing guys get a day off from work. ---Nover

GeordieSkydiver 0 #10 October 21, 2004 Totally agree with you there. I found the movie very inspirational, everytime I heard 'Lose yourself' for about 6 months after it made me wanna go out and do something. "seize the day" Just about sums it up. GravityGirl 0 #11 October 21, 2004 I was entertained by the movie. I like Eminem (how the hell do you spell it?) He may be white trash, but he is a lyrical genius. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
