Evelyn 0 #1 October 20, 2004 I'm going to bring a case of wine to a boogie this weekend and at first thought I'll bring what I like, but then thought that would be selfish since I'll be bringing it to share and other people may like different wines. So thought I'd do a poll and then bring a mixed case based on people's preferences. Although I drink Charles Shaw two buck Chuck at home, my husband, wine snob that he is, refuses to let me bring it when we take wine to functions, so I'll be bringing the good stuff...well, not the really good stuff, but not the cheapo stuff either. Please vote even if you won't be at the boogie. I just need to get a general idea of what wines people like. Thanks! Frenchy68 0 #4 October 21, 2004 I would suggest Pinot Noir. Gevrey Chambertin will do "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return." adamjenner 0 #7 October 21, 2004 QuoteI would suggest Pinot Noir. Gevrey Chambertin will do yes! i was going to suggest pinot noir as well. you could also go for baco noir. i love how working in vineyards has come in handy
Shotgun 1 #8 October 21, 2004 If I drink wine, I prefer Chardonnay... but I tend to drink mostly whiskey, being the high-class lady that I am. I had never heard of Charles Shaw, so I had to look that one up... (the Internet is so great for people with short attention spans!)... I thought Trader Joe's write-up was kinda interesting: http://www.traderjoes.com/new/chuckshaw.asp So is the Two Buck Chuck any good? (I guess that's a silly question; you probably wouldn't be drinking it if you didn't like it!!??)
Evelyn 0 #9 October 21, 2004 QuoteBring vodka instead! Martinis anyone? LOL. If I drink anything stronger than wine I won't be jumping on Sunday and I'll never it make it to the table dancing cuz I'll be passed out under the table . How can you drink martinis Rosa? I outweigh you by 20 lbs. and I can't handle them . But if you really want Vodka I'll bring you a bottle. What kind? VanillaSkyGirl 6 #10 October 21, 2004 QuoteBut if you really want Vodka I'll bring you a bottle. What kind? Omg...no, I was kidding. (Ok, maybe not.) I can only drink one martini and then I'm toast. Actually, ok, ok...I am toast off ONE martini. I just cannot drink wine for health reasons. (I know the vodka doesn't make sense, then, huh? I can drink one...) Anyway, I love ya, Evelyn. Just bring yourself and get ready for a good time. You WILL be dancing on the tables, too... Karl is the instigator...and the DZO.
Evelyn 0 #11 October 21, 2004 Quote So is the Two Buck Chuck any good? (I guess that's a silly question; you probably wouldn't be drinking it if you didn't like it!!??) I drink the Chardonnay and I think it's just as good as a lot of the medium priced ($10-$15) wines. But I think maybe there is not so much difference in the white wines as reds. I'm no wine expert, that's just my opinion. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
Deuce 1 #12 October 21, 2004 The really, really good stuff comes in these boxes. They have a spigot and the wine is easy to get out of the box. If you take the wine out of the box, it's in this cool bladder thingie, and you can use a surgical tube to force the wine into the stomach without the need to taste it. Or there's heroin. MMMMMmmmmmmm. Heroin. Nummy.
Frenchy68 0 #13 October 21, 2004 QuoteMMMMMmmmmmmm. Heroin. Nummy. Uh... I assume you meant to post that in the "How to lose weight FAST" thread, right? mailin 0 #14 October 21, 2004 Have to agree! yellowtail is fantastic! The purple label (shiraz/chardonnay mix I believe) is much much better. I'm in love with red wines - yellow tail is the only one I have more than one bottle of in my house. JenArianna Frances

Stacy 0 #16 October 21, 2004 A friend brought a bottle of Christine Woods (somewhere in Cali) the otehr weekend. really earthy and pretty good. I had a bottle of a beringer blend (pinot noir and something else that I'd never heard of) about a week ago that was suprisingly good. Of course, for a DZ party I'd bring a big old thing of sangria. yummmmy! __

skyyhi 0 #20 October 21, 2004 I voted for Cabernet because I love a good deep hearty red wine. . .I also like the Shiraz wines I have tasted lately. . .though they do tend to turn your tongue purple. . .hmmm.________________________________________ Take risks not to escape life… but to prevent life from escaping. ~ A bumper sticker at the DZ FGF #6 Darcy
