DexterBase 1 #1 October 21, 2004 My girlfriend and I decided to start adventure racing. It looks so fun, and I know we both have a natural aptitude for these kind of activities. We're both rock climbers, BASE jumpers, runners, and pretty much down for anything including getting really dirty, wet, and cold. Our target series is a bunch of 12 hour races. Maybe after a while we can step it up and try a 24 hour race. I think the teamwork part will help us in other parts of life, like make us a better team. We're already a really good team and we can predict what the other is going to say or decide. (We think if we tried three legged racing we'd kick ass.) So does anybody here already adventure race? Any tips for the beginner? I'm pumped.
LouDiamond 1 #2 October 21, 2004 My advice, if you want to stay boyfriend/girlfriend don't do it together, especially if your serious about competing. Train together but compete on different teams, it's only fair to your other team mates as well."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING

DexterBase 1 #4 October 21, 2004 Well, we're entering a series that has a co-ed pair category and that's what we had in mind. We're doing this for fun, not the competition so much. More like an outdoor game than a competition, for us anyway.
flyangel2 2 #5 October 21, 2004 Contact HooknSwoop, he post here. He is really kicking some ass on some of his Adventure Races.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey
