ChasingBlueSky 0 #1 October 21, 2004 That means it would be Texas vs Boston for the championship. Hmmmm. Sound familiar to another race happening right now? What would be the last date of the World Series? Maybe MLB runs the world?_________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Slappie 9 #2 October 21, 2004 If the World Series goes a full 7 games, the last game will be played in Boston on Oct 31st. Reason Boston has home field advantage is because the AL won the All-Star game. Now another big of trivia, if Houston wins.. Houston will be the only city to have had the NFL Superbowl, MLB All-Star game and the World Series all in one year "Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them." In 1980 we took it to the max of 5 games because the MLB had not changed the CS games to the best of 7 format yet. So the Astros have been 1 game from the world series before.. I've given you the proof.. 1980 they had to WIN the NLDS (series) to make it to the NLCS!! 1986 they had to win the NLDS (again a series) to make it to the NLCS So when you unerline series I'm at a loss, because you're not seeing WE HAVE WON A PLAYOFF SERIES BEFORE!! ...doh... Conway is correct in the fact this is the first time in Franchise history the Astros won a series.. Conway is right.. I went and had a smoke and thought about it. Back in the 80's there was only 3 division per league so one team always sat out the NLDS. In 80 & 86 Astros were the Division Champs so they actually sat out and waited for their opponents to be decided in the NLDS series. So the first playoff series win for the Astros was this year against the Atlanta Braves..
