RevJim 0 #27 October 22, 2004 All good, and at least semi-effective suggestions, even if only temporary (hey, JP). How have you been eating, Val? Still on that no meat crap? anyway, what I'm asking is a 2 fold question. How much water are you drinking (plain, not in coffee or soda, or whatever), and what is your sodium intake like? Salt intake is actually a pretty fine line. We need sodium for regular bodily functions, but too much, and we dehydrate. Too much also tends to raise our blood pressure. Not drinking enough water has about the same effect, and combining the 2 is a recipe for misery. My suggestion? Go drink 3 tall glasses of cool water, and repeat it in an hour. I bet you start to feel better quick. p.s. I also say 'Yea!' to the chiro. It's your life, live it! Muenkel 0 #31 October 22, 2004 Hey Val, You know I am no stranger to headaches. When I get a headache that does not require medication, I use a Thermabead heating pad. You pop it in the microwave for 45 seconds and place it on the area that hurts. It helps with both sinus and tension headaches. If you're interested, google "Thermabeads" and you'll find their website. They're also very affordable. I hope you feel better. TypicalFish 0 #32 October 22, 2004 There is an "old-school" pain reliever that comes in packet form called "BC Powder"... Pour the package under your tongue (it tastes HORRIBLE, like crushed aspirin) and leave it there until dissolved. Wash down with LOTS of lukewarm water. As nasty as it sounds, it works."I gargle no man's balls..." ussfpa on SOCNET

I think sleep would do the trick, but I've been sleeping at least 10 hrs a night! You might consider hydration. When migraine patients come into the ER, in addition to happy drugs we hook them up to an IV and hydrate with a couple liters of fluid. About the only time I get headaches is when I've been running around and not getting adequate fluid intake. Good Luck, Michael

Vallerina 2 #38 October 22, 2004 Thanks all for the suggestions. My everlasting headache goes from my right temple to above my right eyebrow. It really just won't go away. I drink about 40-60 ozs of water a day, so I don't think I'm dehydrated. Maybe it'll eventually pass. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Snowwhite 0 #47 October 22, 2004 This whole thread reminds me of an old joke. Steve says he has a terrible headache. It's lasted for days Dave says you try what I do to get rid of my headaches. I lay down on the couch with my head on my wifes pendulous breasts and she sings to me and rubs my temples til it goes away. Steve says "thanks for the tip" Next time he sees Steve, Dave asks, "hey did your headache go away?" Steve says "sure I took your hint, it worked like a charm" Dave says "glad I could help" Steve says "say, you've painted the ceiling in your living room since I was there before, haven't you!?"skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
