gremlin 0 #1 October 22, 2004 woke up this morning to find I have lost my voice. It was there last night and I haven't swallowed anything I shouldn't have. The doc has given my soluble asprin to gargle but has anyone got any better ideas how I can get my voice back? I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine.... AggieDave 6 #2 October 22, 2004 A little lemon juice always helped me out when I'd "lose" my voice while in the Corps of Cadets. Then again, that was from yelling and not from a medical problem, so YMMV.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." hungarianchick 0 #3 October 22, 2004 In my experience, only a voice rest and time will heal laryngitis, assuming it's a result of a cold. If it is, get rest and plenty of fluids you should have your voice back in a day or two. "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food." gremlin 0 #4 October 22, 2004 The problem with trying to rest it is that I have to tell all the people who make funny "speak up a bit" comments to **** off What does lemon juice do?I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
ChasingBlueSky 0 #5 October 22, 2004 I found that sleeping on a slight incline to make sure that post nasal drip doesn't have time to settle in your throat helps as well. Be careful with using any cough drops or the like...they only mask the pain and do nothing to help with recovery. In fact, they tend to make it worse because you think you can talk. Stay away from items that cause phlegm to gather in your throat, and don't smoke. Can't tell you what the lemon does since I am allergic to it._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... gremlin 0 #7 October 23, 2004 Woke up this morning to find that I have some voice back but I am going to go easy on it as it feels a bit tender and I don't want to loose it ahead of a mojor presentation on Tuesday. I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
