I think you have to be on their network though.

I've used it several times over the last couple of weeks. I'm on T-mobile and it sure saves a lot of time.

I can either fire up Internet Explorer on my phone and find something, which takes time for the pages to load, etc... Or I can fire off a quick SMS to 46645 (GOOGL) and have the answer back in about 5-10 seconds. I love it.

It doesn't cost, but it counts against your text message allotment. It'll cost you two messages (one outgoing, one incoming). I have the extra 500 SMS messages a month on my phone though....I think it only runs about $3.99 a month.

Now if only Sprint would sack up and get with the program and allow SMS without having to connect online to use it. Their "shortmail" is a very pathetic attempt at the whole texting thing. Being able to text other Sprint members only does no good. Blahhh, just another complaint I have with Sprint...
