Vallerina 2 #1 October 24, 2004 So, since I've been sitting in my house for so long because I can't drive anywhere (well, I guess I could, I mean...who needs to look over their shoulders while driving anyways?) I've been putting more thought into where to go once I get three months severance. Yes, Ivan, I know that this topic has been discussed before, but too darn bad! Where would you go for a month or two? I may make a jump or two during the trip, but skydiving is about the bottom of my list of priorities on this trip. I don't have much experience backpacking, and I like showers. I'm thinking either New Zealand or a tour of Europe, but I just wanted to get some more ideas and suggestions. Where in the world should Vallerina and possibly guest go?There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
crotalus01 0 #2 October 24, 2004 hmmmmm..... well, i have been to Afghanistan, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, Azerbaijan, Mexico, Panama, Turkey, and Canada. and before you ask, not in the military but on vacation (i always get asked if i went to Afghanistan in the military - NO i didnt i had a tourist visa and was there in September 2002). so, how adventurous are you? i would HIGHLY recommend Cambodia and Afghanistan - the friendliest, most hospitable people on the planet. both are fairly dangerous places to be if you dont keep your wits about you, but if you do, they are awesome. tame traveller? try Hong Kong, Thailand, or Mexico. Thailand and Mexico can be a little dicey at times, but still fairly safe. and they are very pretty if you can deal with the typical poverty and squalor that comes with travel to the 3rd world. if you need any info about any of these places feel free to PM me. dan As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...
 Deuce 1 #10 October 24, 2004 Oh, Val, I've travelled quite a bit, for an American, and I loved Australia. Sydney is like a perfect version of San Francisco. Brisbane was European and very friendly, and the whole Cairnes area was like Santa Cruz, but prettier and with really big fucking spiders. If you could pull off Oz and New Zealand, quit your job and do it. I travelled the whole East Coast of Oz with a couple Kiwis, and it really was just about the trip of my life. The trip of my life was Italy. Rented a car, and drove from Rome, to Naples, up the Amalfi coast to Switzerland, through Milan and Venice and out through Milan again. Romantically? Italy can not be beat. Fun? The Auzzies are the most fun, ever. In the universe. The sunsets on the Amalfi Coast, in Italy, were the best. Just beautiful, and the food was so good. The beer was better in Oz, though. Tough choice. You're young. Do both.
