If TO does his job, the safety won't be there for run support. I think Buckhalter will be adequate, and with Reid's system, the offense will become much more efficient.

Hopefully my Raiders will turn it around this season. Had they gotten Dillon it would hav ebeen a perfect offseason.

Kerry Collins ended his visit with OakTown on Thursday, I believe. There is no official nor unofficial word besides rumors as to if he was presented with an offer or any serious negotiations.

Here's the deal. Collins wants to be a starter. He doesn't appear hip on being anyone's clipboard holder. If he goes to O-Town there would be controversy.

Besides, Oakland is still undecided on what to do with Gannon. There has been a lot of rumors indicating they may release Gannon. It may make sense to a lot of people, but there are negatives to cutting him...mainly the the huge hit to the cap they would take. On the flip side, he has just come off shoulder surgery and is up there in age.

Who knows where this will end. I think your boys would be best to take on Collins and either release Gannon or make him the best backup in football for a year until you can release him or he becomes a FA.

I think in the end O-Town will stick with Gannon and not sign Collins if Collins continues to be stubborn about being a back-up.

Another possibility for Collins is the 49ers. Not sure Rattay will cut it, plus he's coming off of the dreaded groin surgery and will miss almost all of camp and maybe some of pre-season.

Hell, maybe I'll come see you, LawRocket on 9-26-04.

Yeah, Gruden makes his return to Oaktown. I'l tell you what - I'll make you an honorary citizen of Raider nation. All you need to do it done silver and black, make a homemade shank, and stab someone with it. Preferably while drunk in the parking lot at the Colloseum.:D

Hambrick will likely get playing time. He's competing with Wheatley, Zeroue, and Justin Fargas. The Raiders now have some depth at running back. They are WAY deep with backs.

The issue is whether Radier runners have any surface. Depth means shit if none are any good, and Wheat just can't lasta full season at Number 1.

Collins is a good QB. He should work out nicely.

You should have a soft spot in your heart for him. He wasn't blessed with the greatest abilities...except for one. It's the "winner's heart." Doug Flutie had it. Doug was one of those guys who didn't have the gifted super-abilities like others did, but all he did was win. Gannon was just like that. I loved them both.

Well, LawRocket, it's all but official. Collins will be in the silver and black.

Here's one to think about. There is no confirmed reports, just speculating here...

.....Gannon to Tampa Bay after he gets released June 1st and Johnson or Griese to Baltimore.

Call me crazy.

Yeah, I'll call you crazy. Gruden and T-Bay have been perfectly content with Clem (aka Brad Johnson). They've got Griese as backup, and no cap room. I don't think they can afford Gannon.

It would be interesting if they could find a way. I wonder if there's a way to put Gannon on the coaching staff at T-Bay and pay him as that. A "coach/player" situation.

Actually they are not content with "Clem." At least Gruden isn't. That was obvious when they went in pursuit of Garcia. Gruden has never liked Clem very much.

If they can get Baltimore to take over Johnson's contract then they will have room.

Personally I would like to see Johnson stay. Regardless, the future of this team is in the hands of Chris Simms. Johnson, Gannon and Griese are just helping out until Dad feels comfortable in handing over the keys to the youngster.

The local rag here in KC has Miami interested in
Larry Johnson...

If this is true...I would like to see KC get some
good value...

My list begins at CB...
WR...
Interior Defensive line...
Interior Ofensive Line...

Posibly a line backer or a QB...

Any takes on Miami's talent at these positions?
