Vallerina 2 #1 October 27, 2004 Even though I know there's nothing seriously wrong with me, the doctor wants me to get a CAT scan. I am really really really excited about it! I think it'll be really neat to see the pictures after they're done! I mean...I've seen pictures...just never of my head before! How cool is that? They're going to pump me full of iodine to make sure the pictures come out GREAT!!!! I wonder if I get to keep the xrays when they're done with them....I'd frame 'em!There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Vallerina 2 #3 October 27, 2004 Thanks, Anne! QuoteSeeing different types of scans of your own body is pretty cool! I'm feeling almost guilty for having this everlasting headache because I never thought I'd be lucky enough to get pictures of my brain at an age I can really enjoy it! Xrays of my teeth got really boring. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

wildcard451 0 #7 October 27, 2004 Hopefully you'll get some really cool pictures. I had a 5 month headache about 18 months ago, and got a full MRI/MRA of my brain. It's cool to be able to see the pictures rotate in real time. Hopefully your hospital has a MR department that will burn the images onto a CD for you to take home and view. If you had hard copies, trust me, they won't mean much with all the images laid out side by side. Good luck!

And, Michael, that's enough out of you! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

peregrinerose 0 #12 October 27, 2004 CTs aren't all that interesting, but if you get an MRI, now THOSE are cool. I want to get this one creepy looking slice of mine, makes me look like a monster, even my hair shows up on it, enlarged and framed. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
skybeergodd 0 #13 October 27, 2004 Well alittle good news for you.....You have 100% rights to the CT results. All youhave to do is request copies of your CT results and the hospitals has to by law release them to you free of charge. I have copies of all my x-rays and MRI results. Guest #14 October 27, 2004 I've had two MRIs (before and after endoscopic sinus surgery) and the entire process was fascinating. I felt like I was in a science fiction movie, with my head stuck in this big doughnut while it whirled around just inches away. And the "before" and "after" comparison was interesting as well. I think health care people appreciate patients who take a keen and active interest in the proceedings, rather than just being all nervous. On the other hand, it might annoy them more... mh .
