wildcard451 0 #1 October 29, 2004 Well, it is a non skydiving related first, but definitely a significant first indeed. Today, I had the distinct pleasure of delivering my first baby! I did my first C-section yesterday, so that doesn't really count... All I can say, is I am still grinning from ear to ear about it. I went in to this rotation thinking I was gonna hate OBGYN, but it turns out that I actually like it. It was just plain cool to manipulate and catch the infant, clamp off the cord, and finish it up!!! Man does that sucker come out fast! Anyways, just wanted to share my great day with you all! So who gets my beer?

But it all worked like it should, and baby is doing well. So I am happy. On that note, I need to get some sleep. I though I was going to lose my hand to that little Hoover. Think about OB/GYN, you get the clinic and the OR, you get to follow patients for continuity and the emergency events, its the best of all worlds... it's truly hard for me to say which is more of a rush, the freefall or the catching babies. Both are very important to me. pm me if you have any questions about OB/GYN, residency, interviews, blah blah blah Karen
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
