D22369 0 #1 November 1, 2004 I have tried earthlink, and Aol - they were ok figured compuserve was half the price and I have a free two month trial.. so what the heck just let me make myself clear....... Compuserve is the suckiest suck to have ever sucked.... they suck sooooo badly, its SLOW, very very slow, hell......I feel like I am on a TSR-80 again....with a cassette drive....... never mind the fact that it "supposably" has logged me on at the same speed as my aol did....it freezes for minutes at a time then resumes...... I have the latest mcaffey so a virus is probably not the problem..... I have two spyware removers, so thats not the problem..... my harddrive is basically free 80% free, so its not a system being overloaded........ what the hell??? I have to send my email from my g-mail account because it just bounces back....... the tech support is very un-helpfull (to put it politely) I have re-loaded the software twice now..... its just glitchy...... I doubt it I will be able to force myself to stay on compuserve much longer...... sheesh.....what did I expect for 12$ a month? at least I am not paying for this during this trial...... LOL its so bad its kinda funny.... ok, just had to rant a bit...... I feel better now. At least I can still access dz.com ..... anyone else with an experience with a poor ISP? is there a worse one out there?? RoyThey say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it. BGill 0 #2 November 1, 2004 the ISP available to us in the building i live in is terrible. basically since the building is mostly american college kids here in australia for a semester, the "business center" downstairs figured they could rip us off, which they successfully have. its AU$100 a month, so like US$70 for "high speed broadband". this supposed broadband actually runs slower than dial-up and i'm not exaggerating. my friend has been clocking it daily and is about to lodge a formal complaint to get money back from them. that and the fact that it signs me off about 4 times a day.... yeah it's a real dodgy situation down here. luckily i'll be back to my real high speed broadband back home in about 5 weeks. i cant wait! ooh, even better... we got a t1 connection on campus back home. i miss downloading full movies in just a few minutes. Shotgun 1 #3 November 1, 2004 Wow... People still use CompuServe??? I thought AOL had bought them. I didn't realize they were still functioning as two separate companies... I'm surprised they're so bad though; they've been around long enough that they should know what they're doing. But you should really get a cable or DSL connection anyway. Dial-up sucks.
