Muenkel 0 #1 November 1, 2004 I wake up yesterday and my right eye is itchy, red, swollen and oozing all sorts of shit. Call the doc this morning and find out it is pink eye or conjungtivitis. His nurse told me it is highly contagious and to wash my hands frequently and put some drops in my eyes. peregrinerose 0 #4 November 1, 2004 This makes me want to cringe. There is no such thing as 'pink eye', and there are literally 50+ different kinds of conjunctivitis. Go see an eye doc in person. It is impossible to tell which kind of conjunctivitis you have without looking with a slit lamp. Based on your description of itchy, red, and swollen, it sounds allergic more than anything else. All the antibiotics in the world won't do crap if that is the case. But see an eye doc. Some forms of conjunctivitis can cause serious vision problems. Jen Edited to make more sense.
