New Premier Feature: Bulk Upload Photos!

Recommended Posts

Heya all,

Premier Members now have the ability to upload as many images as they like to the galleries in batches. Besides the fact that you already don't have to wait for admin approval of your images you now also don't have to go through the tedious process of uploading one image at a time! B|

How to upload images:

1) Download the iBULC client from their site and install it on your computer. It's a small client side application and has to be running in the background when you upload images:

Download Windows Version
Download Mac Version

2) Simply go to the the Photo Galleries, log in and click on the "Upload Photos" link.

3) Select the directory you want to upload the photos to and click on "Select Media"

4) You will get and interface that looks like this. Browse the directory on your hard drive with your photos, select as many as you want and click on "Upload Files" at the bottom of the list of files.

That's it! Oh yes, another cool feature is you can preview your images by just hovering your cursor over the image name. :)
Enjoy

Larger attachments has a much larger impact on bandwidth.

There's a Photo Gallery for images. If you have larger images that you'd like to post and they're skydiving related I suggest you post them there and place a link here.

If they're not skydiving related, well... them I'm not convinced I want to allow them to eat away at my bandwidth too much.

It's still an option though... :)

So, concerning bandwith...is it better for you if we post pictures in the gallery instead of in the forums?

Yes. Images in the galleries have to be skydiving related though. That's what this site is about. You can post non-skydiving photos here if you want, but they are limited in size.

Oh and, you're welcome. Glad you like the new feature! :P

LOL...I haven't tried it out yet. It will take me weeks to figure out all those steps! ;) But, thank-you for making it available now for all the computer savvy people!

Wow, I thought those were 4 pretty easy steps. Which one are you having trouble figuring out?

I think I'm just too tired from the weekend to figure anything out that starts with the word "download". I'll take another look at it when I'm more refreshed. I'm sure it will be fine for most people. :)

Thank you for adding that feature, I know I will get good use out of it. It will make my life a lot easier. Another feature that would be nice to have is the ability to rearrange photos in the galleries.

This is of course something you can already do. I've emailed you about this. Please make sure your image filenames does not have any commas in them. You have files that are named like:

my,__file,-name,__here.jpg

Remove all commas (or any special characters) before you upload your photos and you will have no problem. Using special charaters in filenames is in general not a good idea. :)
