DTOXX 0 #1 November 9, 2004 I am going into the office VERY early today in order to give a Net Meeting to other corporate sites. The "meeting" will display my computer desktop over the Internet while a phone conference call will be underway simultaneously. All of this so that other sites can see a software system I have been developing over the last 4 years. The other sites are located in California, Texas, Ecuador, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. Because of the 12 hour time difference I need to be in the office by 4:30am... There is a projected 22 people expected to participate. Wish me luck... {vibes} ------- D.T. I think you vibes made the difference. The online meeting went well depending on how you view the results. Pros: all sites liked what they saw and want a "version" of the same for their use.Cons: I will need to travel to these sites in order to modify the code to suit their needs. In short the software system is used to track emergencies at our location. This system provides contact list of personnel based on the type of event/emergency, allows the user(s) to add comments to the event log and stores the event for later use which could be a legal issue. (has happened in the past and is sure to happen again) The system allows not only for data entry but provides maps and aerial photos of our site. These become a backdrop for icons to be placed such as fire, emergency vehicles, helocopter landing area, ect... The system furthermore sends notifications via cellphone, email, Blackberry to selected personnel as needed, either manually or automatically as required.
