jumperconway 0 #31 November 4, 2004 My nurse sister just called from the hospital. They decided to go in with just a local instead of taking a huge chance on putting her under. The biggest fear was respritory arrest which would have been irreversible It went well they got in and out with no problems! Thanks for all the positive energy and prayers! Muenkel 0 #36 November 5, 2004 You and your mom have already been in my prayers for weeks now. I promise to keep them going. My mom was near death in '91...3 cardiac arrests in one night. I have an idea what you're going through. Hang in there. If you need to talk, all you need to do is send me a pm. All my best to you and your mom, _________________________________________ Chris
jumperconway 0 #37 November 5, 2004 Hi Chris. I thank everyone for the possitive vibes and prayers! I spent 3 1/2 hours with her tonight and she's alot stronger than me right now. I was relieved at the situation after I found out at 2:30 they were able to do the local instead of the almost certain bad side event that i was sure to happen. She knows that I have asked and recieved a lot of prayers from my friends here! I was able to be strong for her after hearing the good news and her holding my hand very firm for 30 minutes was crucial. God bess!

Her health is all that concerns me right now. Thanks for the phone call last night Lisa and have a great day! They already isolated the bacterial infection in her lungs as "nocardia"(sp) and started treating her accordingly. My dad stayed there all last night and said she had a peaceful night. Unfortunately I think that we were actually given false hope. My Mom, I think is truly short of a miracle, on her death bed. I spent 4 hrs. with her on Saturday and 3 today and she is down to just drinking water and no food whatsoever and in excruciating pain. It's tough trying to type through the tears I am going through right now. The infectious disease doctor that came in today while her sister was there said in front of both of them that he is afraid that there is too much infection in her body for her to survive long enough for the anti-biotics too work! I gave the approval today to move her upstairs to a different level at M.D. Anderson Cancer Ctr. that deals more with taking care of dealing with the symptoms and pain remeadiation than therapy. They haven't thrown in the towel yet but I'm afraid that they are waiving it.................This is one very special lady that the only time in my life that I know of that she was ever sick was when, me, her last of four babies got her sick from sticking herself with a pin from my diaper when I had a boil on my ass and she was allergic to penicillin and swole up like a pig!
