AggieDave 6 #8 November 11, 2004 I listen to quite a bit of tejano music, I actually enjoy it. Then there's a handful of german groups I listen to as well...and I've got a lot of indian (from india) music I'll listen to on occasion, and traditional chinese music. I guess I'm just odd.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
MikeJD 0 #9 November 11, 2004 QuoteYa, driving over to the central part of WA state I'll listen to the Mexican stations and sing along,,, drives my partners nuts,, With you on that one - whenever I'm at Eloy for Christmas I'll tune in to Mexican Radio. I don't understand the lyrics and I can't sing along, but it sure makes a great soundtrack for driving through the Sonoran desert! I also like The Cocteau Twins (some English but lots of made-up language) and Sigur Ros, who I think use a mix of Icelandic and made-up words. Funny how words you don't understand sometimes make for the most beautiful music - maybe because so many lyrics are so bad!
nacmacfeegle 0 #10 November 11, 2004 Yeah, I like:- Les Negresses Vertes- from France. Clannad- Irish Gaelic, haunting vocals. The Carmina Buranna- Carl Orff mostly in latin I guess, also loads of other classical stuff and Opera I haven't got a clue about, I just like the tunes. I used to listen a lot to Runrig, they sing a lot in Scottish Gaelic, but they've split now, fond memories of their farewell gig at Stirling Castle though. I like lots of African music too, but can never make out what they are singing about, just jolly choonz mostly. And then there's Eminem, I'm sure there's English in there somewhere. Too much music, not enough time for it all.-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me.
