adamjenner 0 #1 November 12, 2004 So i wake up this morning to get some milk out of the fridge and find this (see pictures below). i thought either someone in the family just went on heroin(e?) or mom's doing the flu shot clinic at the office again. Turns out it was the flu shot clinic (mom's a nurse). then i feel my sleeve lift up and she jabs me....now i have the flu (been feeling sick for a bit) thanks mom. hookitt 1 #2 November 12, 2004 I just love the idea of injecting the flu... Takes the worry out of whether you'll get it or not. I'm glad to hear you got that out of the way. adamjenner 0 #6 November 12, 2004 I'm telling you guys, it was just some funny i'm half asleep and opening up the fridge to that haha But mom said they used every last one! I think the best was last year on halloween she has all the needles piled out on the kitchen table, and she was filling them up. Well when you trick or treat at my door you could CLEARLY see the table (full of all the needles) i bet people were having some thoughts abo ut taking candy from our house haha...maybe that's why we only have 5 kids this year. I never use to get sick from the flu shot but this year i did. I hate it.

I was still able to get one. Anyone at my agency could've. Since there was a shortage, i passed it up this year so the old people could get 'em instead. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug! adamjenner 0 #17 November 12, 2004 QuoteWe may have a few more elderly people in FL than you have there though. not to sound rude or anything but wouldn't it make sense to give them to younger people who may live about 40 years instead of someone who might only like 5 more months? I kinda implied the same thing to the people at work except with the the concept of "they are saving them for all the unemployed people". Instead industries across the board are going to loose millions of dollars because of lack of flu shots because employed people are not the right age to receive one. Dagny 0 #24 November 12, 2004 Quotenot to sound rude or anything but wouldn't it make sense to give them to younger people who may live about 40 years instead of someone who might only like 5 more months? It makes sense that people who are young with a strong immune system can handle the possibility of getting the flu without dying; whereas, the elderly have a greater probability of dying from the flu due to weakened immune systems and multiple comorbidities (simultaneous disease processes). That's why it's way cooler for people in the states, due to the vaccine shortage, to let people who need it more get the shot. And, basically, if you aren't immunocompromised or elderly you aren't getting the shot in the states anyway.Take me, I am the drug; take me, I am hallucinogenic. -Salvador Dali
