Costa Rica is AWESOME! The country boasts that they have no standing military, and there are more teachers then police officers there.

However, the Police along the boarder have bunkers with machine guns... hmmm...

Yeah, I know that. That's why I want to eventually live there. Beautiful weather, beautiful girls, third-world prices, but with no crime rate and intelligent population. fuck yeah!

Alright, will do. Expect to quit your job in about a month.

"third-world prices"

Umm - that's been changing fast - with all the Canuck and Yank retirees moving there - houses are frequently running in the 100+ K USD range.

"no crime rate "
If theft doesn't count - you are pretty much spot on - otherwise if it ain't bolted down, expect it to be 'liberated' quick.

Enjoy it - sadly I cannot return there for a LONG time to come - got a rather bitter ex-gf down there somewhere that wouldn't mind claiming my head as a trophy. :S

I just came back from costa a few weeks ago. And here are a few places I would recomend. Jaco, its trashy but fun. Quepos and Manuel Antonio which are just south of Jaco were pretty nice. Montezuma. Lake Arenal. Theres also a volcano that goes off several times a day there which is pretty cool. Monteverde, which from what we heard had the best zip lines. And so much more. If you dont have a lonley planet guide book you should get one cause they really come in handy. And like stated before its not as cheap as you think we went through money fast. If you want to know any more pm me and ill fill you in on the "really good" places to go ;). happy travels
