lynxie 0 #1 November 14, 2004 I'm looking for back protection. Something similar to this But custom made or in sizes for women. Do you know of any manufacturer that makes protective gear (downhill/ski/motorbike/other) for women? -- "If you can dream it, you can DO IT!" --

hookitt 1 #4 November 14, 2004 What are you using if for? The wave is very flexible and low profile. It also extends pretty low to help protect the tail bone as well, The DAINESE BAP 1 7-PLATE BACK PROTECTOR W/BELT is a good option as well. Here's a site with a picture of it. Spine Protector. Depending on what you're using it for, the wave may be the way to go. It's flexible, has the honeycomb aluminum between the plastic and the padding for extra impact absorbsion. The size of the spine protector will help spread out the impact across the back. That's a huge plus. That is sometimes the difference between walking away with your breath knocked out or not. The Back Space is similar but it sticks out just a bit more. It's the same thing that's on my Dainese safety jacket and it's not bad but I'd rather trade it in for the Wave2.My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... lynxie 0 #6 November 14, 2004 i'm 168 cm. But it's the dimensions and the fit that are the problems. The Dainese products (including the wave and bap 1) of right lenght are much wider than me. It makes them slide to the sides. And I hit my elbows or the upper part of my arms in it when I move my arms. Maybe someone makes something that's not so wide? Also the girth is too far down, which makes them slide up so I was recommended not to buy them because it wouldn't protect that well and it could cause neck injuries. Maybe there are back protectors that has the girth higher? -- "If you can dream it, you can DO IT!" --
