DrunkMonkey 0 #1 November 17, 2004 How hard is it to get/maintain a FAA Class 1 physical for someone with allergic rhinitis (hay fever) that requires daily, year-round meds? I was considering a career change, and one of those "fly for the commuter airlines" flight schools in the AOPA magazines is interesting... Thx

MonkeyPilot 0 #3 November 17, 2004 It really depends on what meds you are prescribed and the severity of your symptoms(sinus)...The FAA has certain ones(meds) that are watched or..lets say "frowned" uppon. If no changes in allertness or cautions about operating equipment notifications are suggested or implied by your doctor than there is a good chance the FAA wont have a problem with them. Sinus problems are watched closly due to changes in equlibrium or environmental awareness...dizzyness is not something pilots should be combating. Passengers probably dont want to see the close one eye to make it home technique..........If it cant accidently kill you...then whats the point.-RKiger
DrunkMonkey 0 #4 November 17, 2004 Disregard...it seems that the only drug that works for me is specifically verboten by the FAA. Scratch that dream...
