Duckwater 0 #1 November 17, 2004 I just got my friend out of an MIP. (Minor in Possesion). We had to go to court twice but when it came time to enter a plea, we pleaded innocent and requested a Jury Trial. She was really nervous and felt bad that we were 'causing trouble'. I told her that if we make it a pain in the ass for them (jury trial) they would dismiss it for sure.....They did and I saved the $275 fine. Plus, she is cute as hell and Im sure the DA looked at her and figured the Jury would love her. I do the same with speeding tickets. Another trick, NEVER give your insurance card when getting a ticket. Always be really vague and make it seem like you don't have insurance. Sometines, they will forget the speeding and just write you an insurance ticket, which will be dismissed when you show your card at the court. Every time she comes over to my house, she wears my Bonehead and I wear my Beer Dispenser Football Helmet. Bad plan...we have a little thing here in Philly called Live Stop. Meaning, if you get stopped without proof of registration or insurance they impound your car. Also, in PA and NJ, the law is written saying that you get fined for not having proof of insurance in your posession when driving. Doesn't matter whether you actually have insurance or not. RevJim 0 #4 November 17, 2004 Here in Wisconsin there is a fine for not carrying your driver's lisense. It's zero points, but if given, will NOT be dropped. Same if you have an SR-22 filing (required insurance, as it's not required of everyone in WI). No proof, FINE, and possible towing of your car (no insurance on a sr-22, you can't drive, PERIOD).It's your life, live it! Viking 0 #5 November 17, 2004 I got a speeding ticket up in Yosemite back in oct and i'm going up there to request traffic school if the cop shows. If he doesn't i'll plead not guilty and get it dismissed since he won't be there. I really hope he is busy!!!I swear you must have footprints on the back of your helmet - chicagoskydiver My God has a bigger dick than your god -George Carlin
gjhdiver 0 #6 November 17, 2004 I bought this great book called How to Fight Your Ticket in CA It's full of great legal wrangling to make just about any speeding ticket go away. It's worked for me each time. Also, get to know the cops that skydive. They are a great source for writing off your fix it tickets, and letting you know the shift pattern of the cop that you want to call into court. Don't try the lost insurance card deal in CA. 9 times out of 10, you're going to get your vehicle impounded right there.
livendive 8 #7 November 17, 2004 A good friend of mine, while retreiving his license, registration, and proof of insurance, makes a point of informing the officer ("just to avoid any surprises") of his concealed weapon permit and the location of all guns in the vehicle. Every single time the cop directs his attention to that, checks out the guns, runs the permit, and then once he's satisfied that everything is on the up & up, tells my friend to slow it down. This has worked for him like 4 or 5 times in a row now. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
Shotgun 1 #8 November 17, 2004 QuoteI wear my Beer Dispenser Football Helmet. And I don't think I've ever seen you look so sexy as you do in your Beer Dispenser Football Helmet. Hmm, I need one of those... Now stop corrupting the poor young women... I'm starting to remember why Richard gave you the nickname of troublemakerdick. skydiver30960 0 #9 November 17, 2004 In the state where I first got my CCDW, it's REQUIRED to show the officer your CCDW permit at the same time you show them your driver's license if you are carrying at the time. I'm not living there anymore, but figured it held for all states. Well, one way or the other I'll definitely be whipping that permit out first thing. Might help me avoid having unnecessary holes punched in me by high-speed lead. skydivingchad 0 #11 November 17, 2004 I got pulled over on the PA Turnpike over the weekend for speeding (81 in a 65) , When I was asked for my DL, insurance, registration, I realized I didn't have the insurance card with me. Luckily he gave me a warning for the speeding and just had to get a local cop to sign off that I had insurance when I got home. Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug. PhillyKev 0 #13 November 17, 2004 Yeah, that's their discretion. He was saying that you should insinuate that you don't have insurance at all, not that you don't have the card. If you do that, you're getting a ticket and showing up in court with proof of insurance isn't going to get you out of it because the ticket is for driving without proof of insurance. Not just driving without insurance.
