dixieskydiver 0 #2 November 15, 2004 Snow? It was 70 here the other day... You should see the people at the beach when it snows here once every couple of years. Screw skydiving, if you wanna live on the edge just get on the road with those people. Dixie HISPA #56 Facil Rodriguez "Scientific research has shown that 60% of the time, it works every time." AndyMan 7 #4 November 15, 2004 Geeze.. That was quick. You got off easy! Lucky you! I was living in Ottawa when the ice storm came through in 98. Power was out for almost two weeks... Glad you're all right. The real fun starts in the clean-up... _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

DeNReN 0 #8 November 16, 2004 I had started a snow thread Sat. when it was just starting.....Sunday morning I tried to respond to the thread 3 times....every time the power went out... I gave up when the power was out for 7 hours....got a tad chilly here....you guys in the valley got it alot worst...there are still over 100,000 homes without power and some will take several more days to restore Some of the steel transmission towers look like pipe cleaners...there are light poles and lines down everywhere.....so much for the forcasted 10 to 20 cm of snow(had over 2 ft in my driveway...that damn kid worked hard for his $15 asking price)...(paid the lil dude $25 for his 2 hours of work) Anyone planning on getting snow tires installed in Halifax best be willing to wait....my shop is booked solid for over a week...all tires
adamjenner 0 #9 November 16, 2004 I hear ya man! canadian tire was lined right up today and the big stop up the way was waiting on a generator to pump gas...the lanes were backed RIGHT up with probably 100 or more cars waiting for gas. I thought it was kind of funny, we only got about 2 ft of snow and the power went out yet last year when we got 4 - 5 ft of snow we still had power. I think NS power should start looking into spending a few hundred million in underground wires instead of spending the millions on "tests" and "experiments" as to what they should be doing. 1naFLYhi 0 #10 November 18, 2004 I just got power today. I was afraid I was one of those "gonna be Friday" households. Probably would have except the son got mad and called NSPC. They didn't know we had no power. That got things moving. Powerless from Saturday 10PM AST to Wed 3PM AST. Now I'm working on Snow Tires.
