It must be rough..

You young folks just have to put up with our music being the best.:P

I accepted that a long time ago. My dad wandering into my room and saying, "Hey, that's OUR music" didn't even dissuade me, I just cranked the Jimi louder.

Nothing holds a candle to anything from '68-'69.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams

Didn't notice Motorhead on the list, Gareth.

This is true, but then, I didn't really expect them to be there. No one really ever accuses my musical tastes as being either classic or tasteful.

I think a few of my other are on there though.

I do have a quiet side though. XTC are probably one of my favorite ever bands.

Not rough at all. I gave up listening to crap music in the 4th grade. All 3 of my friends thought I was weird for digging on Zeppelin, the Beatles and the Who back when "No Parking on the Dance Floor" was the mst important song of the week.

Yes, your era DID have the best music.

It did, but also remember the mid to late 1950's: Jerry Lee Lewis, Chubby Checker, Elvis, Fats Domino, Bo Diddly, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly. These musicians and others are the fathers of Rock and Roll. The 60's kicked ass, but w/o people like those mentioned the 60's would've sounded very different.

Ahem. That was my era too.

I went to high school with one of the Stones (Wyman), and Pink Floyd was our local garage band when I was in grad school. That was before they became famous. We used to grumble about the noise they made, waking us up on Saturday mornings.
