;)Thanks for hangin' out in the water SeaKev when it was my turn to do the harness drill...:SB| I needed a rescue diver in the water in case I freaked, and Kev volunteered.

So how do other DZ's do their water training? We were in the DEEP end o' the pool an' I was a-SKEERED!! :o Fortunately the Acme girl falls like an anvil in the sky, and floats like a cork in the water () so I only got one full gulp of highly-chlorinated water prior to getting some air...:S

It was over pretty quickly, actually! :)

Onward and upward, just a written test on Saturday and Acme will have the 'B' that she so vehemently protested just weeks ago...:P

What was your water training like??

They usually bring people to someone's pool and make them jump in geared up with a canopy and get out. I got my live water training at my first Bridge Day. I did an intentional water landing. :P

Ha...y'know Weege, I tried to get our instructor to just 'pass' me...if I promised never to land in water...I said I'd either a.) cut-away and burn in or b.) hook it in if I ever got near water...rather than do this freaky water training. :P -No dice. :(

YAY! Congrats Jaye!!!

I got thrown into a freezing cold Delta in Byron, CA. It sucked. It was so damn cold I couldn't breathe when I hit the water which made my start laughing uncontrollably which I tend to do at the wrong times...

Well if I remember right my water training involved the following, T-10, belly wart, 182 with duct tape, lake, and several blow up floaty dragons and ducks, and 2500 feet of altitude over a lake in wisconsin. You see we actually had to jump into a body of water to get signed off. We also had a club picnic at the site the same day. many people who did not need to be signed off did it every year just for the fun of it. I believe that I have a total 8 water jumps. Made three in one day with my old classifier rig and cruiseaire main. Man did we have fun.

Firefighters, not firemen, are always there when you need them.B|

...but the thread title wouldn't have been as provocative if it said 'Firefighter'...:o:P;)

-If it's 'Firefighter' instead o' 'Fireman' (and woman), why isn't it 'Crimefighter' instead o' 'Police Man' (and woman)?? Or could they also be called 'Extinguisher Man/Woman'? Things that make ya go 'hmm...' :| -I'm just happy I didn't drown. :P

Went for water training at a lake near the DZ Jaye. Nice and cold, even in the summer. And the instructor was feeling very evil that day... "see the wind break line... swim out there and back, and then tread water for a minute" I slept well that night.
