Michele 1 #1 November 17, 2004 Hi, all. So I finally have a company that will allow me to create my own business card (within certain parameters...but still.) I finally got it relatively close to what I want...both front and back. I'd like your opinions, if you wouldn't mind (and no, no boobies are contained herein...sorry, guys!). In case you can't read the caption on the back of the card, it reads (top left) I don't ask how high. . .(bottom right) I just jump. Thanks in advance! wee 0 #2 November 17, 2004 I like! it kind of reminds me of the remax balloon though... does anyone else want to go up in that thing? It looks sooo fun and I know it really exists because I saw it once in Dallas (like 7 years ago). FUN & PRETTY! Make sure you use 300 dpi photos when sending to press If the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off!
Gravitymaster 0 #3 November 17, 2004 I wouldn't use the parachute for a logo. When one hires a realtor, they are looking for someone who will make them feel safe by minimizing risks.

Could be confusing to the customer, as I can't see any connection between skydiving and realty. wee: I've seen the Remax balloon before - I've been up in a balloon once, when they were doing the Balloon Festival up in Plano. Squeak 17 #5 November 17, 2004 First of all HI Michele, LTNS sweety hope you are wellOK now with regards the bus/card, I would be relucxtant to use the parachute, most people don't see parachutes as safe and reliable. Which is exactly what they DO want in a Realtor. However the text is very well done.Really nice to see you posting You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! How's yours doing? RoysPlayThing 0 #6 November 17, 2004 umm... just a question, but if you deal in real estate, why do you want your business cards to have a skydiving theme? It looks unprofessional in my opinion, If your business has nothing to do with skydivng of course... I could be in the dark on that one._______________________________________________ My mind is like a parachute...it functions only when open.

MC208B 0 #8 November 17, 2004 Hi Michelle, I like it parachute and all. What are you suppossed to have on the card? A house or something?!? Actually, I sold my house in WA (I think) and the MLS realtors that came and left their cards usually had nothing on them, or maybe a pic of a local snowy volcano. The realtors here on Maui should have $$$$$$ on theirs! Of course, I'm just an airplane mechanic, don't have anything to do with real estate people or what "should" be on their cards. sunshine 2 #9 November 17, 2004 QuoteCould be confusing to the customer, as I can't see any connection between skydiving and realty. I so agree with this statement. The canopy logo is huge and takes over the business card. It just doesn't make sense to have a canopy on a realty card. BTW, i design some of the business cards we use at my agency so i kinda know what makes a good/bad business card. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug! unformed 0 #11 November 17, 2004 It's a cool picture, but I'd have to agree that the canopy doesn't belong there. I'd just make a minimalist business card that looks clean-cut, edgy, and professional. Maybe put a small logo, but you don't want the logo to attract attention away from the details. If you want something to do with skydiving, i'd put a small abstract-ish parachute logo on, one that's not obvious immediately. But I think the best way would be to just leave it off. This ad space for sale.
peregrinerose 0 #12 November 17, 2004 I've been in the Remax balloon. I have very very very very very high up connections with Remax, so hoping that once I'm waaaaay farther along in skydiving I can pull a few strings and swing the balloon for a jump Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
hooked 0 #13 November 17, 2004 I love the design and color! Taking into consideration what others have said about skydiving having no relation to real estate, maybe adding a siloutte of houses down below the skydiver? Just a thought. For some reason, I cannot receive the back view of the card. edit to add: Skydiving is part of who you are, I think it should be included on the card. StevePhelps 0 #14 November 17, 2004 Michele: I design websites, logos and have illustrated magazines such as GH, BH&G, TV Guide, SEP, Ebony, etc. I know something about art. That being said. The card may not say anything about Real Estate, but it says something about you. I think that is important. I bet people will remeber YOUR card among many others with little houses, for sale signs, and roofs on them. I say go with it! However, I would consider a more abstract canopy logo. But I like it either way.
Michele 1 #15 November 17, 2004 Great feedback. I do appreciate it very much. Some changes which will be made: the parachute is much smaller in my mind's eye, and the layout of the information will be more spaced out. Additionally, the phrase "when my clients say jump..." will go underneath it, which will tie into the back photo. I recognize the concept that people don't want realtors who take risks, who are reliable and dependable. The idea behind this card is to be different, to "stand out" from the other 3,500 realtors in my area, and to start conversations. Most people either put a photo of themselves on the front (I've never liked that, but that's industry standard), or photos of houses (again, I don't like that at all...). My goal was to get something which would catch someone's eye, and have them look at it for more than 3 seconds while they're throwing it away (hopefully they'll keep it, but who knows...). "Branding" is hard to do right; most people will use their family, or will use their pets...and while that's fun, when about 1,000 people are doing the same thing, it becomes "common" and there's nothing you remember from them. This way, at least they will think "oh, that's Michele, the one who jumps out of airplanes" when they see me or my card. It's single purpose is to get people to remember me, and think of me when they're thinking of real estate. And also, statistics show that the average realtor is between 49-58, while the average transaction participants (buyers and sellers) are 30-45. The subtle concept underneath all of that is that I am "youthful" (hah...) and more in their age range...which means I share common traits with them, which means I'm more approachable. Or so it's supposed to go.... I will get the parachute smaller and towards the top (which is again what I had originally planned), and get the slogan's first part set out (I tried in photo shop, but it didn't work...I'm a clutz in PS...) under the canopy. That may help tie it together... I do appreciate the feedback very much. Thanks a ton! Nightingale 0 #17 November 17, 2004 I'd make the parachute white instead of black, so it goes better with the text on the card.
RevJim 0 #18 November 17, 2004 Personally, Michele, I'd not change a thing on the front (I can't see the back). It's attention getting, and forget the 'safe' comments, remembering your market. This is not a 'safe' market. Most of these people got the rather pricey homes after taking risks. Safe very well could be a turn off, for them. In short, I love it, and it's one I'll remember for some time now. It's your life, live it! skymama 37 #19 November 17, 2004 I definitely think the canopy should only take up 1/4 the size of the card at most. Is there a way to get the kind of printing where the design looks like it's part of a background and the printing is kind of on top of it? I think it just needs to be a little...softer.She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
kallend 2,151 #20 November 17, 2004 I like my banker, realtor, attorney, financial advisor etc. to be conservative and boring. Lose the parachute.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
airtwardo 7 #21 November 17, 2004 Kind of like the "Boobies" idea myself.... Wouldn't throw THAT one away! I jump on the "ReMax" Skydiving Team from time to time...there are canopy and balloon PICS on some of the advertising stuff around here. How about a canopy with the KW logo on it.... That would tie everything together. JohnnyD 0 #22 November 17, 2004 When making the single largest purchase of your life, I could care less what my realtor's hobbies are. I want them on the job 100%. As a client, if I saw that card I would look elsewhere. FWIW - Its great that you love skydiving, but that is bordering on unprofessional. Edit: Maybe that came off a bit harsh, but I assume it would have to be to get the point across. What about increasing the size and using it as an inconspicuous back drop for the card. Something bordering on the subliminal perhaps.
JohnnyD 0 #23 November 17, 2004 QuoteMichele, You go with it!!!! It really is a great design and a card your clients will definitely remember! Jan When I bought my house, what I remember about my realtor was that she made the process easier and more pleasant than buying a car, not that she had a nice card. I don't even remember what it looks like, but I know it has her number on it and I will use her again.
