We Watched "Hell Boy" last night!

Recommended Posts

Overall I liked it, but during the final scenes it seemed there was some critical scene edited out. There was a definite missing transition.

Was he high when he watched it? :D:D
The Punisher wasn't a great movie by anymeans, but it was still way better than Hellboy.

What didn't you like about Hellboy? Maybe I liked it because I felt it was very true to the feeling and story of the comic book.

I was never into the comic book, maybe I would have liked it more if I was. I liked X-Men and I thought The Punisher was decent, and I wasn't ever really into either of those. I don't know... I guess I didn't like the story telling of the whole thing.. .mainly, it was non-existent. The special effects were cool, the charaters had a comic-book feel to them, it had some good humor... I just didn't see a story. And it does seem like some things were left out, the plot gaps... I just didn't like it. I didn't think it was a complete waste or anything, I just didn't like it.

I've been worried to see the new Punisher movie, esp after this disaster: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098141/. I'm just happy that comic book movies have gotten better. Did you ever see this one? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103923/ It was painful to watch.

From what I heard from non-comic book fans that saw both movies, they enjoyed Hellboy but hated the new Punisher movie.

I'll have to re-watch HellBoy to see if I overlooked holes in the story line because of my love for the comic book. Like X-Men, there were some changes to the story, but it stayed true to the book. Personally, I feel that HellBoy is much better than the original Xmen, but X2 was just incredible (too bad Bryan Singer will not be making X3 now).

Yeah, I liked Hellboy too. I remember reading about it in Fangoria when it was not yet released. How 'bout that GUN?! :D (And you thought I couldn't turn this into a gun thread?! :P)

You know what's funny is how Ron Perlman is still recognizable under all that makeup. It seems like they just built up what were already his features! :D

I saw a virtually unknown movie called Cronos that had him featured in it. It was about a device that an alchemist created that could imbue someone with virtual immortality. Interesting flick, done partly in Spanish and partly in English. I don't know if Perlman is a Spanish speaker, but he had lines in Spanish...

Chronos was one Guillermo del Toro's early movies. He also directed Blade II and Hellboy. Guillermo has several favorite themes he likes to work into his movies.

Yep, it was Del Toro. The box even made a point of saying so. :P I think there was no H in Cronos, though. Did you see it? What'd you think?

I thought the old man was almost like Gepetto from Pinocchio. LOL.
