Should I go to Eloy?

Recommended Posts

We were at a birthday party and another friend had a birthday the day before. I gave her a birthday card and apologized for being a day late. She said no problem I do birthday week. My husband said Evelyn got to have birthday month for her 50th but now is down to birthday week. So I said, okay, birthday week, does that mean I can do what I want the week of my birthday and my husband said yes, absolutely. So I said okay I want to go to the Eloy boogie (my birthday is Jan. 2nd.). He said no problem, it's your birthday and you can do whatever you want. I had hoped my husband would get a group of golf buddies together and come, but he didn't, just told me to go and have fun. So now I am wondering if I should go. Will there be people there I know, will it be fun. What do you think?

What kind of answer do you think you're going to get here?! 'Course you should go. Have fun, jump lots, call your hubby from the bar and tell him you love him every day after jumping finishes.

Enjoy the boogie. There's no reason to feel guilty, and I'm sure it'll be a hell of a lot of fun. You'll make shedloads of friends...

Nope, none of the DZ.com people are going, so you won't know a soul there. And the skydives suck;)

For those of you that can't read between the lines, it's a joke

Evelyn, funny how things work out. See, a marriage is give and take. Your husband goes and does his thing, and you go and do your thing, with his blessings.

I wouldn't feel guilty, especially since my husband is encouraging me to go. I'm a little disappointed that he didn't want to go, but know that he trusts me to go on my own. The reason I'd want my husband there is because I'm really shy and he's very outgoing. I met a lot of people at chicks rock that I wouldn't have met if my husband hadn't been there socializing with everyone. I'm very shy which makes going places without my husband hard.

Yeah, I am totally doing this with his blessing. I just wish he was going cuz I'm so damned shy and he's so outgoing and if he was there I would know I'd meet people just hangin out with my husband, but the thought of meeting people on my own pretty much terrifies me.

Okay, then this trip will be a good exercise for you. Just make it a goal to meet two new people each day.

Ah. In that case, adopt one DZ.commer that you know online as your buddy each day/evening. Hang with them and talk to the people you're introduced to.

Combine this with a bottle of your favourite intoxicant and you'll have loads of friends in no time :)
edit: And the lovely Amazon has volunteered herself. Sorted B|. Have a great time (I'm jealous).

Good idea. I will do that. Will you be there to be one of the new people I meet?
