Tonto 1 #3 November 25, 2004 I signed up for USPA membership yesterday. I'll be bringing my PASA (Parachute Association of South Africa) card along as well, as it has my D licence and ratings etc on it. Do I really need a log book? I have 14 of them, some nearly 20 years old.. or can I bring the last one? There are no sigs in my logbook since I got my D in 1988.. tIt's the year of the Pig. skykittykat 0 #13 November 26, 2004 Just a question - why is it this year you need a minimum of a USPA temp membership to jump at the Eloy boogie when in the past it was not needed? Has the USPA changed it's rules? Liz
bbarnhouse 0 #14 November 26, 2004 This list actually came from Perris (Thanks Dan!) prior to US Nationals. There were questions regarding insurance that prompted investigation. USPA has made some changes regarding insurance coverage, and it was believed that the BPA had liability for travelers which they do not. (Since you are currently in Eloy Liz, it might do well to come in to manifest if you have additional questions)
Remster 30 #15 November 26, 2004 From memory, I kinda recall it has to do with the 3rd party insurance that comes with the memberships of these groups (I remember the BPA ones anyways)... It excludes coverage in the USA (probably due to the letigious environment there)Remster
Dazzle 0 #16 November 26, 2004 I always assumed that you had to have USPA membership, temporary or full to jump at USPA dropzones irrespective of where you are from. Is this not correct or is Eloy not a USPA GM?
Remster 30 #17 November 26, 2004 From my understanding its not required per say, GM or not. Some DZs require it, some dont.Remster

vt1977 0 #19 November 27, 2004 Betsy - just wondering what the deal is with re-pack cycles for foreign jumpers at Eloy? Will the BPA 6 month cycle apply for British jumpers, or do I need to get a reserve re-pack? Cheers Vicki
