ltdiver 3 #1 November 29, 2004 For those of you in the winterland, you probably have us beat at Perris today. However, since we got the report from manifest that it was -15 degrees C at altitude, thought I'd calculate what it -really- felt like up there today! (think that manifest was trying to make us feel good when the ground winds picked to over 30mph and we couldn't jump for awhile...) See Calculation Here Burrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
RevJim 0 #2 November 29, 2004 Can't for the life of me remember the conversion, but it was ~+20F at 4500. I believe they said it was ~+10F at 10 grand. Yea, it's Wisconsin and I'm a cheesehead. How do I know? I wore a sweatshirt and regular freefly pants. It's your life, live it! AggieDave 6 #7 November 29, 2004 Heh. it was roughly 30F at alti today, so using the link you posted, that makes it 9F with windchill. Not bad at all, except I couldn't jump today due to muscle spasms in my neck.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." peacefuljeffrey 0 #9 November 29, 2004 I was jumpin' at Sebastian today and it was BEEEE-OOOOTEEEFULLLLL! On the ground it was in the 70s, and who knows what it was at 13,500, but if it was cold I sure didn't notice it 'cause I was busy getting in on 10-way attempts and 6-way hybrids! OMG is it fun to be a hanger on a 6-way hybrid! I forgot, is that the right term for the guys who stand below a hybrid? I'm sooo new to this but it's coming together nicely. I even packed outside on the grass it was so nice out today. Gotta love Skyvan season at Sebastian! Blue skies, -Jeffrey-Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... BGill 0 #12 November 29, 2004 Quote Yep [Cool], and as a result, I'm nicely sunburned [Mad]. Not to rub it in or anything, but I do believe I had the worst sunburn this weekend at Picton. Putz said my "eyes were glowing because my face was so red". Damn it hurts. But you know what... it's gonna be 39C tomorrow and I'll be at the beach, don't really care if it's worse cuz Thursday I'm heading back into the winter wonderland of the good ol' USofA! sdctlc 0 #18 November 29, 2004 Not sure but I know I was getting out at 5K on Sat ands others going all the way up were comming down frozen.... I am noty too worried about the extra altitude when its that cold. The tandem I did yesterday was very cold, at 5K I looked and it was below Freezing. I was dressed accordingly and tucked my head behind the passanger for some of the jump.... Scott C."He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
