If she has any access to electric, an extension cord and electric heater could do the trick.
I love you, Shannon and Jim.

QuoteWhere are you staying? Do you need a trailer?
The Tent Mahal is set up by the Memorial park at Perris. It wouldn't be bad if it were June, but the thermometer says it's not June anymore.
A trailer with heat would be heaven on earth in comparison.
QuoteMy book collection, baby pictures, mementos....everything gone....
Just gives me a chance to start over...right? Right.
Yup. That's what I keep telling myself. It was just stuff, stuff is replaceable and I had too much of it anyway. Eventually I'll believe the lies I'm telling myself...

Though i think she was wasted at the time.
I miss getting wasted too.

QuoteDo your parents live nearby?
They're about a 45 minute drive from the dz. Too far to commute (I also miss gas prices under $2 a gallon!

Unfortunately there is no access to electricity.
Well, there could be but I heard someone got kicked off the dz for doing the extension cord to electric heater in the tent thing. I think I'd rather be cold on the dz than stuck finding another place to pitch my tent... and since my job is on the dz getting kicked off it would be rather inconvienient.

That wouldn't be a good thing, no.... but I can think of two possible ways around it, pending approval from DZO, of course:
1. Use heater last thing at night/first thing in morning to warm the place up.
2. Find a "camping style" heater that has a tipover switch in it. That would keep it from being a fire hazard.
I love you, Shannon and Jim.

I'll think warm thoughts for you and your puppy and hopefully our nice weather will rub off on your coast.

Knowing that area of the DZ, the problem isn't safety, it's that the electrical system is so old/overloaded that one more load will blow breakers.

It did. It just never made it back home. I still want it back too...

QuoteWhat, that hammer never showed up
It showed up. Then it rode around in the trunk of my car - from IL to FL, from FL to NC and back during the first hurricane. Then I took it out of the trunk and put it in my living room. Then the other hurricane hit.
Despite the obvious reaction of metal to sitting in water, it was one of the few things I salvaged from the "this stuff is soaked and going to the dump" pile. It went in a box of stuff I don't need while living in a tent and that box is currently sitting in my kid's storage unit.
Someday it will be returned to it's rightful owner. Until that time I claim insanity as my defense.

Coolio...You know the sentimental value behind it and I'm sure can understand why beating stuff with it is so enjoyable. If you need to, pull it out and give it a wack.-----
