What is it about Christmas decorations that makes you angry?

I don't understand why christmas music and decorations do that to folks. I love christmas and can't wait to get together with my family (some of whom I see only once a year) and enjoy the scents and tastes of christmas.

Its a wonderful time of year.

If you haven't noticed, the malls have had decorations up for more than a month.

Ha! You would hate me then! B| I LOVE Christmas! I'm almost done with my shopping, our tree is up, I've been listening to Christmas music in my car and at home, and yesterday I started filling out my Christmas cards. :$ I guess when you have little kids around you all the time it's more exciting. :)

It's the first of December, get a grip, it's Christmas season! When else are you supposed to decorate? February? :P

It's hardly worth pulling out all those decorations then! :S I decorated my house last night and we're putting up the tree this weekend. If I'm going to pull all that stuff out of the attic, I'm going to get my use out of it. Besides, it's all so cute and cheery, you big Scrooge. Go eat a candy cane and get over it! ;)

I see it as the most materialistic holiday ever.......
and I must confess I do just hate Christmas music and its going to be unescapable for the next month >:(

Christmas is only materialistic if you want it to be. For me, Christmas is about celebrating life and family and love. It's about being together and thinking about each other. It's not about how much money you spend or the size of your Christmas tree ()!!

i LOVE Christmas.. the music, the decorations, the smells of pine and holiday spices, the festive moods of everyone, the friends/familytime. I bought a tree and put it up with my boyfriend this past weekend. SO exciting! :)
I do agree that stores are putting up decorations and items for Xmas sale WAAAAYYY too early -- I mean there is something wrong when CVS/Walgreens has Christmas items out the day after Halloween. I think they should way until right after thanksgiving.

One good thing I have read recently about xmas though is that retailers are panicing this year and considering starting sales early.....I think this is a brilliant idea! As I remember back in a couple of the jobs I have done working on Christmas eve selling folk stuff, that I knew was going on sale at the end of the day when the shops shut to get ready for the boxing day sale.....:S

The day after thanksgiving is the day most people start decorating. I love christmas. My office is decorated. I wore jingle bell socks to work yesterday. I wear christmas stuff in my hair. I love it!!

uuuummm... but i dissagree...

You see, the only reason people start putting up decorations earlier than the acceptable (Dec 16th) is because Walmart does. So they walk around stores and see all the decorations for sale, and all the decorations that are put up in the store. They are then made to believe it is time to put up decorations. Thats bullcrap. >:(Why decorate anyways?

I agree that christmas should be a festive occasion, but anything gets anoying after such a long time. Celebrating for a week is quite exhaustive, nevermind a month! >:(

Look at any other culture and their elongated festivals. They dance and celebrate for the alloted amount of time, then go home. They dont decorate a month beforehand!>:(

Edit to add: I'll eat hersheys all day if it is in a silver wrapper, put it in red or green, and I'm ready to puke.

Actually, we put up decorations before it gets too cold and snowy to make it any fun.

Yeah. Putting lights on a house when there's too much snow on the ground or the temps are cold enough to freeze your fingers....not really too fun. Plus the day after thanksgiving, most families are together so they can decorate as a family.
