I've got to warn you, Lock stock is british humor, if you like that sort of thing, you'll be laughing your ass off the entire movie, if not, you may not like it.

Yes, I meant to see it when it first came out in the theatres. I've always loved British humor. I used to regularly watch the show The Young Ones when I was a teenager and loved movies such as Trainspotting, The Full Monty, etc. ;)

Chaoskitty ~ Eddie izzard...have heard/read a lot about him over the years, but never have seen a show. I will try to rent Dressed to Kill! ;)

Remi ~ Sometimes, dark is GOOD...the darker the movie, the better. Are you surprised to hear that from me?

If you liked Memento, you might like Donnie Darko.

Run, Lola, Run kicks arse, although the concept was probably more original when it first came out.

Suicide Kings - qwirky with a nice twist
The usual suspects - qwirky suspense
Identity - yep, a twist
The princess and the warrior - similar to Run, Lola, Run
Shuan of the Dead - HILARIOUS zombie movie parody

/warning, most films I would recommend are pretty subjective.

In that case you may enjoy:

Shallow Grave (Ewan McGregor's first wide release. 'humor' might be a stretch, but pretty good)
Eddie Izzard is hilarious

Dark:
Requiem for a Dream
Ther general http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120706/ dark irish mafia
Millers Crossing (coen mafia)
American Beauty (hard to define dark, I loved it)

OK, scrolled through, looked, and didn't see...

Maybe It's just me, but my wife rented Jersey Girl as a chick flick (we trade off who picks what we rent), and I ended up watching it twice, then copying it before it was returned.

In my humble opinion, one of Affleck's better movies to date, though I also recommend Dogma for a good tension reliever. :)

Requiem for a Dream is one of the best movies that I have ever seen with some of the best acting that I have ever seen, but it's definitely very dark. I saw American Beauty in the theatre. While I agree that it was very good and deserved all the awards that it received, I felt extreme disgust at Spacey's character, as well as the others...so much that it took away from my enjoyment of the film. :S That alone proves that the film was incredible.

Ok, now that you're making me think about it, I can't explain it, I guess its a vibe/feel thing with me. Storyline, editing and photography aside, I guess it comes down to the really funny things are very subtle in both movies.

Hmmm... I'll have to watch them both again, closer together or something. :D

Dave - they played Boondock Saints on Fox the other day :D:D How well do you think that worked?!

Someone mentioned Requiem for a Dream - good call.

Oh! Dirty Pretty Things was pretty decent too.

1.Goodbye Lenin great flick.
2.Hero comes out tomorrow. If you like Crouching Tiger hidden Dragon you'll like this one too.
3. Das Boot. German WW2 U-Boat. Wolfgang Peterson.
4. Dr.Strangelove. One of my all time favorites. Peter Sellers is awesome.
5. Being There.
6. Trainspotting
7. Donnie Darko
8. Rouge Trader. True story on the guy who brought down Barrings bank, basically he BKed the firm with 'rouge' options traded in Singapore.
9. Mel Brook's The Producers.

Edited to add 7-9.
