Flying in India, they use a wand to scan you and the ring set the wand off. The lady waved it around my belly a couple of times and it squealed, so I lifted up my top and showed her the ring. She immediately smiled, and hopefully it made her day! btw - only chicks get scanned by women, the guys get scanned by guys, so you would need to show off your PA to a bloke in that situation. However, I would have thought that button fly jeans would have the same effect on the wand, so you may want to wear them if flying in India with a PA tashDon't ever save anything for a special occasion.
