Yea well I never claimed to be a good speller I do however find it funny that it took 16 posts for someone to say something....She is not a "Dumb Blonde" - She is a "Light-Haired Detour Off The Information Superhighway." eeneR TF#72, FB#4130, Incauto
Remster 30 #28 December 2, 2004 QuoteWhats a psycostipper??? A stripper psycho enough to date Kev.... And thats the problem with pop.... You drink too much liquid for it to have enough effect. Expresso, though it contains less caffeine, is pretty small, so if you drink a bowl of the stuff, you have no choice in the buzz! Remster
PhillyKev 0 #29 December 2, 2004 If you really want to rev up your coffee to the point of having the same blast as a smack in the face (or catching a whiff of a french canadian), then you really need to go here.... http://www.thinkgeek.com/caffeine/ ...they even have caffeinated water to brew your java with (or to hose down the smelly french canadian). BillyVance 35 #30 December 2, 2004 A normal day for me is two 12 oz cans of Mountain Dew in the mornings, a 20 oz bottle of Coca Cola with lunch, and two 12 oz cans of Coca Cola or Vanilla Cola in the afternoons... Shit... that's nearly a 6 pack a day! I feel alert but not bouncing off the walls though. Sheenster303 0 #35 December 2, 2004 Caffeine is soooo addicting. Last summer, I tried to quit and I would get the worst headaches. I hated it, so I just went back to drinking it again. I don't have to have it to wake up and I don't really NEED it to get through my day, but if I go more than 2 days without it I get all grumpy and get a massive headache. All this comes from just drinking soda with caffeine in it. I have maybe tried coffee twice in my whole life and I just don't care for it. I grew up in a house where it wasn't drank so I guess I never picked up the habit of getting a cup of coffee in the morning.I'm so funny I crack my head open! Remster 30 #40 December 2, 2004 QuoteWhat are the side benefits of quitting caffiene, Wendy? I'm not even close to being Wendy! Thank god for her! lol... but... A huge side effect of caffeine is that is inhibits the body's capability to absorb calcium. Oesteoporosis is a real issue for many women, not only in their 50, 40, but even 30s.Remster
BillyVance 35 #41 December 2, 2004 QuoteActually, I drank a bunch of diet pops. I gave them up because my dentist told me to! Not surprised... it's a fact that the citric or phosphorous acids in soda pops will gradually eat away the enamel on the teeth. Vallerina 2 #42 December 2, 2004 Yup, so then (many months later), I started in on coffee! I'm trying to quit caffeine again, but somedays (like when I have that long drive up to Northbrook), I'll have a cup of coffee. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
ladyskydiver 0 #43 December 2, 2004 Luckily, I rarely drink soda, and I can go 2 days without any withdrawal symptoms from lack of coffee. During the summer, I do real well with not drinking coffee. It's just when it gets cold out, coffee is the first thing I go for. I've quit drinking caffeine twice - once I had migraines for 3 days, the second time, I had no side affects. And, I rarely drink more than 2 cups of coffee a day, but there are times. Who knows? Maybe come spring next year, I'll quit caffeine again.Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! BillyVance 35 #44 December 2, 2004 The funny thing with me is, I drink nearly a 6 pack of caffeinated sodas every day at work, just because the evil vending machines keep calling my name... OTOH, on weekends, I usually don't have sodas at home and don't think about getting a drink. I don't even like coffee. I remember going to WFFC at Quincy one year and I don't think I ever drank a pop the whole week there. I was too busy jumping my butt off to feel any withdrawal symptoms... But here at work, I go without a drink, I will feel the headache creeping in! flyangel2 2 #45 December 2, 2004 I don't drink much soda either. But, I'm a bear if I don't have coffee in the morning. Hell, I can and do, drink the whole pot that I have waiting for me when I wake up. Thank god for timers. wmw999 2,593 #46 December 2, 2004 QuoteWhat are the side benefits of quitting caffiene, Wendy? This probably belongs in the women's forum, but, well, such is life. When a person of the female persuasion ages, breast tenderness at "those" times of the month gets more painful, and longer-lasting. That's not fun. Quitting coffee made it go away, from being there close to 1/2 the time. When I cheat and have a cup, I notice the effect, too. I tried all the other things (e.g. more magnesium, better vitamins, more calcium), but the caffeine really made a difference.
